I guess it depends on what look youre going for.  Is it a big evening black tie or semi formal event?  Is your gown very dramatic or simple and understated?  Is it a backyard wedding, courthouse or reception hall?  Overall I like the first – you can definitely pull it off!

I actually like the 2nd look better!  You look beautiful!  The eyeshadow used makes your eyes pop and look more vibrant 🙂  You may want to go with a matte lip when taking your formal pictures, as a shiny lip will reflect light and may cause you to look shiny.

After flipping back and forth between the two photos, I do have one concern…it appears as though the foundation used in both trials may not match your skin tone (it looks too red/rosy in contrast with your neck/chest).  Hopefully, it’s just the lighting in your car, but if not, you will definitely want to ensure that your makeup artist chooses the right foundation for your skin tone, because it WILL show up in your photos otherwise.

I like the first picture. Remember flash photography eats up your make up, so you need slightly more than youwould usually use. I think you look beautiful

Hi! I’ve been a professional makeup artist for years, so I can help you with some tips. First, I’d go with something just in between natural and all done up. If you don’t have some color to you, then you will wash out in your pictures. Secondly, I highly recommend you using Makeup Forever’s HD Foundation. It is purposely formulated for taking pictures and does not contain SPF. There are very few foundations that do not contain SPF (which is another thing that will wash you out or make you white — eeek). Go to Sephora and get matched. You can bring in your own foundation to the makeup artist. Last, Model in a Bottle makes an AWESOME setting spray. Have your MUA spray you with that — I’ve literally stayed out all night with my girlfriends partying, slept in my makeup and woke up the next day without a smudge. It is worth it. Good luck, and you will look beautiful!

I forgot to add…….. take a couple pictures of yourself in your makeup looks from 10-15 feet away. That will give you a much truer look.

The first pic is much better.  But you have to be comfortable.
