I would push back if you already signed a contract. You don’t want to make her mad (since you don’t want her to do a bad job on your makeup out of spite), but I would say that you really can’t afford the extra $50 and remind her that you have a contract for the $50. I think it’s ridiculous you are getting charged a site fee and a mileage fee and she is increasing the site fee based on distance.

OMG, you signed a contract – you’re paying more for her to get there then you are on makeup – that’s crazy!

I personally would tell her you have a signed contract, that it’s ridicolous for her to change it one week before the event. If she insists on changing it you’re going to cancel, and hopefully she’ll agree to leave it.

She screwed up by realizing the distance….her mistake, you shouldn’t have to pay for it.

Well it snot werid if she increased the price on you!  I think what you shoudl do is look for other ppl while you wait for her reply, if she concedes GREAT!  If not, you already haev plan B in place.  Depending on how much you like her, you may also want to negotiate.  Why not split the difference with her?  Say how about $75.. that’s reasonable.  Tell her you WANT to work with her but you REALLY can’t justify an additional $50 charge, but you’re willing to gice in $25.  If she still says no then she doesn’t really want the job, so screw her!  You can also, always go to a Mac store or something else, and book an appt and get your make-up done there.  I know Mac will do your face for $50 OR you just have to buy $50 in make-up.  I was able to hire someone from MAC and she’s only charging me $80 for my face and then nicely asked if I could cover the cost of parking, and I got a trial for free (at the MAC store).  What a great deal!

I used to do makeup when I was modeling and that is a ridiculous price. I can do an entire bridal party for what she is charging you just for you. You signed a contract with her, if she doesn’t like it find someone else.

What’s the point of the site fee when she’s already charging you mileage???

Regardless of how she figured out her costs, if you have a contract, she should abide by that (even if it’s her mistake).  She can ask you for consideration on it, but it’s ridiculous she’s going to risk losing all that work for $50.

What does the contract say about canceling?

And, I’d call your friend ASAP and see if she’d do it (as a backup).

@spoonoutmyheart:  when you first got the pricing for her, did you ask her what the site fee was all about?  It seems odd she’d charge mileage and a site fee.. you know what I mean?  I think she’s being ridiculous to do that to a bride the WEEK of her wedding.
