I have contacts and sensitive eyes too, but I very rarely have problems with makeup. Have you tried any of the Almay products? I know they have (or at least used to have) makeup that is labelled as safe for contacts. I use Benefit, Make Up Forever, Rimmel and Hard Candy on my eyes and have had no issues.

My best advice is to make sure you have rewetting drops with you at all times. Also, if you plan to line your eyes, avoid the tight line and water line. You can just line above your lashes. Also, instead of using liner to line under your bottom lashes, you can use a liner brush with a dark shade of eye shadow.

Also carry a little concealer and some powder in case you have to do a quick removal and rinse off. I’d make a little emergency pack with rewetting drops, saline/multipurpose solution, tissues, oil blotting papers, a fluffy makeup brush, concealer and powder. That should cover any eye issues if they arise!!

Good luck and I hope you can find some products that work well for you!!

@scrinz:  I don’t have any advice, but wanted to say that I can commiserate with you! Exact same thing happened to me last weekend!  I drove home with one eye and had to toss an otherwise perfectly good monthly contact.  This was makeup I had done for my bridal shower.

@scrinz:  I wear the same brand of contacts and I use eyeliner from ‘the body shop’ without any problems.  Also, about 20-30 mins before you put your contacts in, use a redness reducing eye drop.  I’m planning on doing my own make-up for my wedding (I did this for my engagement and boudoir shoots).

@scrinz:  I have the same problem… that’s why I am getting LASIK next week.

Seems no matter what I do, my eyes are irritated! I use the same brand of contacts.

I’d just wear your normal eye makeup, maybe wear blush or a bright lipstick to look more ‘done’. It’s not worth irritating your eyes IMO. That or practice doing a heavier eye yourself and use that makeup.

Try make up forever aqua eyes (very pricy though – I think it runs $22 a pot – my favorite is a bronzey taupe color), stila waterproof liquid liner, and Too Faced lashgasm mascara which was a dryish formula which did not smudge on my lower lashes and everything smudges on my lower lashes.
