I can’t help with finding someone personally to teach you, but have you tried looking on youTube for tutorials? I am pretty much obsessed with a few gurus who do really good videos for hair and make up.
@StinaBremm: what a great idea! i have been trying to figure out if/how i’m going to do my own make-up… i’m def gonna check out you tube now. thanks for the tip!!
@pigment80: do you have a regualr hair stylist in NYC???? i’m sure they would be thrilled to teach you, for the cost of a regular visit… if they knwo the situation and you have a relationship established already i can’t see them not helping you out!
These tutorials are great! I asked my normal stylist and she said she doesn’t “style” hair so can’t help. Ummmm….okay. That’s why I’ve been stumped! Thank you all for the help. I’d still love to talk to an actual stylist if at all possible, so if anyone can recommend, i’d be grateful. But in the meantime, I’m getting on these tutorials.
Really, I want to know what’s going to work best for picitures, in the sun, etc, as far as products go, so I’d love to talk to an expert.
@pigment80: if you want an in-person teaching experience, the Bobbi Brown counter at bloomingdale’s does make-up application lessons. it’s definitely worth checking out if you like the bobbi brown look.
I just saw this now, so forgive the late response. Anni Bruno is your girl! I’ve had the priviledge of working with her on some work-related events, and she is as down to earth as she is talented.
In addition to doing bridal makeup, she does personal shopper consults. I’m sure what you need is something she’s done before. And did I mention how wonderful she is?
