I don’t know about you, but for me the first makeup casualty in weather like that is always my eyeshadow. What starts off looking like beautiful work of art just ends up in my eyelid creases within a half hour.

So after reading numerous recommendations, I bought Urban Decay Primer Potion and tried it out at a friend’s outdoor wedding on the weekend. My shadow stayed put all day; no melting, smudging or sneaking off into my eyelid creases at all. It does feel a bit heavier than the foundation I used to wear under my eyeshadow, but it doesn’t look it at all.

I hired a hair/MUA but I have heard great reviews about Model in a Bottle which you spray over your completed makeup for no shine and staying power.  My friend hot married on the hottest day lastyear and she looked flawless all night.  i think it’s only $10-15!

I am on the hunt for a long wearing yet gentle sweat-proof primer/foundation/powder combo for my wedding in 6 weeks. So far the NARS primer, Dior foundation, Tarte setting powder combo has been the best. And trust me, I’ve tried a lot! I’ve also read good things about YSL, so it’s on my “try it” list, too. basically, I am on a first name basis with the make-up staff at my local Sephora and will try every product they own until I get as close to perfect as possible.

I got married in Playa del Carmen on May 28 of this year. I got my makeup done at a salon so I can’t speak for specific brands but I didn’t have a problem with my makeup. I was worried about sweating through it but I looked fine all night.

Will your reception be outside? We had our ceremony and pictures outside (beach) but the breeze from the water kept things cool. I think the only thing I’d worry about was if you’re having an outdoor reception with dancing.
