I think you’re on the right track :). Brown would probably look more natural and not overshadow your eyes as much. If you’re looking to make your eyes more ‘open’ looking, you should also consider using a pale eyeshadow.

What you should look into are the single lashes that you can have added. Instead of having a whole “row” put on your eyes you can actually just have a few extended lashes glued on to the outside corners of your eyes. Personally, I like these better because your eyes still look “real” instead of having huge long lashes all the way. What they look like are little bunches of about 3 or 4 individual lashes…putting them on the outside corners will help your eyes pop!

Here is an example of what the “lash extensions” I’m talking about look like. This eye has quite a few of them on, but you can add less or more depending on the look you’re going for.

I actually think it looks really great as is. Just remember that how it looks in photos and how it looks in the mirror are not the same thing. But after the day is over, and it goes by so fast, the photos are what you’ll have to remember it by.

@retsud: My mom always tells me to open up my eyes more in pictures. Not quite sure how to do that without getting out eyelid clamps, but I’ve found that using browns instead of blacks and using a light color on the top of your eyelid gives the same effect. 🙂

I think you look great without them, and if you are not comfortable, it’s not something to do on your wedding day.  You will have to talk to everyone…you don’t want your eyes to be uncomfortable.

@retsud: Haha, sorry! I haven’t seen that movie so they’re still hypothetical to me :).

I’m like you; I don’t wear makeup typically and I don’t like for my eyes to be overly “done.” That being said, I actually think your makeup in the picture looks really, really beautiful! I don’t think it looks overdone or overpowering. But if you’re unsure, I think black-brown mascara and/or fewer lashes would look great too.
