Hey bees, long time no chit-chat! I had nothing to do wedding-planning wise for a few months and sort of fell out of love with wedding planning lol. Anyways, I had my make up trial, let me know what you think. I do not wear this much makeup normally so I felt a tad clownish at first, but warmed up as the day went on. Would you recommend a dark lip colour like this or not? I feel like it’s the occasion to go bold, but I’m not sure if I’d prefer a natural colour.
Sorry im so bad at selfies 😉

There are some Bees who are really good at this, so I’ll let them give you the specific critique! But as an amateur, I’m loving the eye makeup! Keep it similar! 2 changes I would make – you could definetly use a blush/bronzer on your cheeks and some contouring for definition. And I wouldn’t go with a dark lipstick at all. It looks nice, but it seems way too high maintenance for all day. Something softer and easily re-applied over and over is probably a better choice. But totally in the right direction Bee!

I’d add a bit of shimmery highlight to the high points of your face for a glow, and change the lips to a soft pink to bubble gum pink gloss. I do not recommend countour, no offence pp, but it looks like dirt or a false tan mishap from the side, the shape of your face is just fine. ☺

Hi you are beautiful first of all, I love the eyes those will pop in the photos. Your cheekbones need some highlighter/bronzer and the lip is too shocking IMO. Maybe something softer (still has color though) on the lips.

I’d say a big no to timid lip colors! The one you’re wearing is such a vibrant, happy color; perfect for a wedding, and it looks beautiful on you. I think your trial was very successful!

Thanks everyone! I agree on more bronzer for sure. So undecided about the lip colour though – It does seem high maintenance. But the eyes will stay the same 🙂

I second a bit of highlighting, and a more natural shade of lipstick. The eyes are dramatic enough, the dramatic lipstick makes it a tad clownish. You’re going to look beautiful!

I. Like this first lip color. If you usually don’t wear makeup, I feel it may not be you. I feel you should be a glammed up version of yourself on your wedding day to make you most comfortable and beutiful. The dark looks great on you as well.

i’d say may be pink lipstick. I think may be a lil more blush.
i like ur eye makeup, personally I would t go with a black / grey shadow for wedding, I d stick with more natural shades like pink and brown. But that’s just my opinion. Whatever it is u should feel good about it.

I love the bold lip. The second lip pictured above as an option is horrible, looks like she needs a damn lip scrub and some chap stick!
I think the makeup is beautiful on you OP, I would add a little more blush and highlight and I would say you would be perfection.

I agree about adding some highlighter. I love the bold lip but I would not wear it if you’re not used to maintaining colour like that. Do you own the tube or can you find out what it is and get it? You can practise wearing it and if you decide to go for something softer, it looks great on you so you can wear it for other occasions.

As others have said, a touch more contour, blush and highlighting and it’s perfect.
Personally I like the lip colour as with dress, accessories, groom all dressed up, flowers everywhere etc etc things don’t look as stark as they do on their own.
Tone the lip down if you like but it’s a good look and a softer lip would also work. Just get them to nail the contour, blush and highlighter.

I like the lip color as well. I find if you’re not used to wearing make-up, bolder lipstick is almost always the last thing people get accustomed to when they wear it. The eyes are a little dramatic, but not so dramatic that they demand a neutral lip (i.e. eyes are neutral, little shimmer, eyeliner is not overly dramatic). If you went MORE dramatic with the eyes (color, more shimmer or glitter, heavily winged eyeliner) then I think you need a more neutral lip. As a pp noted, you’re not going to be wearing a black t-shirt with colorful print on your wedding day so unless you’re going with very colorful gown and/or accessories, this is going to be your only major pop of color and will look appropriate dressed up. If you do tone it down, I wouldn’t go any lighter than the first pic in one of the posts above (that second pic was horrible). A softer mauve perhaps.

You look beautiful! The only thing I’m not crazy about is the lip color. The bright pink isn’t my favourite. Like others have suggested a softer color would suit you. If you want to go bold, a dark red would be stunning too.

you’re so right, I have a picture from this night when I went out and it looks much better since I dressed up and my hair wasn’t a frizzy mess.
