UPDATE: I did my makeup this morning how I thought I wanted it for the wedding, just to see if I could do it if worst came to worst. My products i use aren’t the best so we will see how they last. Any tips for a natural contour and highlight without looking I have stuff caked on my face??
I am going to give my MUA another chance and if that doesn’t work, I’ll search out another. Then if all else fails, I will attempt DIY. I need loads of practice.

I just saw your update. I think your best bet would be hiring a makeup artist on your wedding day. The makeup needs to be a little bit heavier on your wedding day for the photos. And in your last post you mentioned that your products arent the best. Buying decent products for your wedding day could add up to the same amount as hiring a MUA.(I just spent over $130 on lipstick, bb creme, and a brightner stick at sephora last weekend. to give you some idea of the cost) And then that is also added stress on your day. I dont think what your artist did was terribe but some feedback would help things along. If you dont feel comfortable with her though you should find another MUA ASAP.
For your orginal trial pic: You need some undereye conceiler and brightner and your eyebrows cleaned up. That will make such a difference, and you have awesome brows!! My biggest suggestion though is to try on some natural looking false eyelashes. That will really make your look pop.

I have a makeup problem. Like seriously, i’m one of those IG makeup chicks. It’s serious.
Check out ColourPop Cosmetics (online only). They have shadows for $5 a piece, Hilighters for $8, Lipsticks for $5. It’s so much better quality than a lot of the drugstore makeup and its the same price point. The eyeshadow in the shade “Amaze” would look phenominal on your eyes. I like “Lunch Money” as a hilighter, but you really can’t go wrong as long as you pick something more neutral. Their colors are very easy to blend so I think they would work well for you as a beginner if you have to do your own makeup.

i really like the look! i do think that if you chose a darker/more prounounced lip color, it would really amplify the whole look. in my opinion; how it is now looks unbalanaced becuase your lip is so natural looking, and the rest of your makeup is noticable. But i really think its gorgeous – very romantic!

I echo what a lot of previous posters have said, but I notice you said you don’t want eyeliner–why is that? It can be intimidating, but if well done, it shouldn’t look like you have eyeliner on, just that your lashes are thicker and your eyes more defined. I think it would make your eyes a lot less “tired.” I was not a fan for a long time, but then I got a tiny Korean brush liner that I basically use to fill in between my lashes. HUGE difference.

I was gonna say, if you got your brows done I think the makeup would look a lot better. I’m not trying to be mean OP, you said you wanted honest feedback.

I agree that cleaning up the brows would really make the eyes pop. And by the way, they don’t have to be perfect little arches to look fab either. Here are some natural, no-fuss brow styles I think would look great with your features.
Go see a brow threader and show them what you want. If getting your brows done isn’t your thing, that’s cool too. These are just my $0.02. 🙂

ColourPop is bomb…… And like you, I’m makeup crazy. My husband doesn’t understand it haha.
OP you’re so gorgeous! And it is such a shame that your makeup artist failed so miserably!!
Since you seem to like to hear it straight up…… Your makeup artist needs to get fired…. Even if that means feeling awkward on your wedding day. Who cares?????? Don’t sacrifice looking like a rockstar for her and her feelings!!
The eyeshadow is just all wrong….. I can totally see you with a smokey but subtle look (Very much like the picture another bee posted on the first page of this post). It looks like she just used a chocolate brown on your entire lid with some really badly blended black on the side. And I’m not even going to get started with the eyeliner! Also, you have really long eyelashes and even those were not done up to their full potential! I would have used a few individual lashes on the end of your eye at least!
I won’t mention the eyebrows since you are growing them out, but she could have filled them in to give you an idea of how they’d look on your wedding day. And there are ways to make the little annoying growing hairs a bit more concealed too.
She should have used a more peachy matte blush with some highlight towards the back and definitely some light contouring.
You have some pretty defined under eyes that would have looked a million times better if she color corrected closer to your water line and if she brightened them a bit with a lighter concealer.
As far as foundation goes, if you don’t like the full coverage look, there are plenty of foundations that are buildable and you can reach your desired amount of coverage without them looking unnatural or cakey. Also make sure your makeup artist uses a pore minimizing primer prior to using foundation. A good one does wonders! And sometimes it is all I wear and it looks like I’m wearing foundation.
Don’t think you can’t reach any of these looks with drug store products. They have really stepped up their game lately and companies like Elf or NYX have fantastic products that are much more affordable than you’d think.
I’m the full glam type and any chance I get to go the whole way, I take it! On my wedding day it took 3 makeup removing towels to get all that stuff off haha.
Check out Nicole Guerriero on YouTube, she has done a few tutorials of makeup looks with all drug store products and they look amazing!!!!

I haven’t tried Elf but I second what you say about NYX. I like my NYX lipstick better than my Christian Dior one!

I have the same eye shape as you and I HATE having shadow under my eyes…they make them look heavy and I think this is what you’re seeing as well. Just have them do mascara on the bottom and maybe a lightener but thats it. The rest of the makeup is super pretty though, the eyeliner is just a bit uneven and you need to tidy up your eyebrows a bit (but WOW are they a gorgeous shape!).

My only advice is this: Do you and do it slightly bolder than normal.
If you don’t normally wear any makeup at all, you may be disappointed later if you choose a lot of or very noticeably-done make-up for your Big Day. If you normally wear a smokey eye, then go a bit smokier. If you don’t usually wear any mascara, then skip the falsies. All you want to do is to look like yourself, but more polished. With that said, don’t freak out if it is also a little darker than you’re use to because you need that in order for it to show-up on film properly.
I know, these two things seem to contradict one another, but a good make-up artist will completely understand and will be 100% capable of achieving that look for you.

You definitely want the make up to show in your photos, you don’t want it to blend in and look like you don’t have any on. Here is a picture of mine; I found my idea on pinterest

I prefer the base and the blush from the first photo, but with your own eyes mix the both and your be an absolute stunner. Here’s the bitch in me xx get them to tidy up your eyebrows xx it might help you with the pics if you wear a top similar to your dress colour, as our clothes colour can reflect off the face.
