Ok so I have been messing around with doing my own makeup the day of the wedding. This decision comes after my first trial was a disaster! See the link for the aweful pictures! (BTW loved my hair, hated the makeup) I really want a natural look for my makeup and to not look too over done, which is exactly what the MUA did.
I have been researching like crazy about the best drugstore makup to use for pale skin with red undertones, but still gives all day wear and a photo ready finish (thats a lot to ask for in dugstore makeup I know LOL). And in the process have bought a few different products to find the best fit for me. And I think I might have it!
What do you think? I am going for a natural look and I still might change around my eyeshadow (not that you will ever notice it behind my glasses LOL) but otherwise I like what I see 🙂

I’m a make-up artist, and I do bridal make-up all the time. I LOVE the lip and the blush! They’re absolutely perfect. For you eyes, I would go for a little more color to define them in your pictures. Are your eyes hazel? I would go for a sheer pink or golden shadow from brow line to lashline, then a plum shadow to contour the crease of your eyes. (Stay away from shimmery shadows, as they can create strange shadows and relections when being photographed) Also, I would use a bronze or chocolate eye liner heavier on the top lash line, but lighter on the bottom, this will exaggerate your lashes, and give a more natural look. Finally, I would go a little heavier on the lashes as well. It really helps to bring attention to your eyes in photographs. You could apply false lashes and trim them down to give a fuller, but still natural look, or try my favorite mascara combo: 2 coats Rimmel “Scandaleyes” mascara (gives great length), then 2 coats Maybeline “falsies, black drama” (Gives great volume). I hope this helps! You will be a BEAUTIFUL Bride!

I agree with PP – a bit more colour to define the eyes. LOVE the pinky lip and cheeks though! 🙂

P.s… if I was mistaken and your eyes are blue, Keep the brown liner, and go with a gold shadow all over, then a bronze or copper countour shade.

I think a little more color would soften the contrast between the pink lip and peachy cheeks. Right now, it looks a little harsh, so a chocolate brown with some of the colors @AlmostMrsShea suggested would be perfect. You’re going to make a gorgeous bride!

I’ve read a lot of good things about Revlon PhotoReady makeup recently.
The lip color you picked out is pretty, but is really blue-toned and looks almost neon on your skin. It might look different in daylight however. I’d try to find something that looks a bit more natural if that’s the look you are going for. A bright rose color would look really good on you.
I think your cheek color is just right.
Did you curl your lashes? That would help open your eyes up a lot more.
I think for eyeshadow you could go with a couple different looks. Try to find matte shadows, although you could tap a little bit of a light shimmer/frost shadow on your browbone to highlight. I think lighter colors would help your eyes pop more, and use a dark liner (gel or liquid) and black mascara.
Cream all over, taupe on the lid, and a medium brown in the crease
Cream all over, light gray on the lid and a medium grey in the crease.
ETA: Revlon Ultimate Suede colors to look at (I haven’t used this but have heard good things about it): womenswear, socialite, preview. For other color references, I also look better in bluish pinks, and the two colors I picked up recently were Chanel Rouge Coco in Orchidee and Legende (although Mademoiselle and Camelia look good on me too).
ETA #2: Some Maybelline palettes to look into (some of these seem overly frosty to me so I’d check or read reviews): 3-pan ExpertWear in Impeccable Grays or Almond Satin; 4-pan in Natural Smokes or Designer Chocolates. I recommend lighter colors because dark colors will make your eyes recede more, light colors make them come forward more.

@magglemay-2013: I love the natural look of your make-up! It looks great and it enhances your beauty instead of covering it up and making you look overdone! They did a really good job. Maybe you could go for a slighter darker eyeshadow if you are planning to wear your glasses on your wedding day? Otherwise, it looks beautiful! 🙂

This look is a HUGE improvement over the other look!
I like it alot, I do agree that you could use a little more on the eyes for them to really pop.. if you plan on wearing glasses you have to add tons to make your eyes pop from behind glasses.

Thank you Thank you Thank you Bees! You have seriously made my day 🙂
And I totally agree with you on the eye makeup. I bought this brownish gold thinking it would be a very heavy shadow, but it actually barely shows up! And I will line my top lid on the wedding day, but I don’t do that on a daily basis so since I was headed off to work this morning I skipped that.
@AlmostMrsShea: I have blue eyes LOL
@BlondeBee: Thanks for the ‘gorgeous bride’ comment, made my day 🙂 I just hope I really am LOL
@Anise: I did curl my lashes, but I don’t have the greatest mascara right now either so hopefully I good new mascara will help with that
@lovelylight99: Yes, I will be wearing my glasses, and Thank you! I actually did it myself 🙂 And it feels good to know its not just me that thinks it could work for a wedding day look!
@jenilynevette: Yes, I will be wearing my glasses and I completely agree with it being a HUGE improvement. I hated my makeup from my trial. It did NOT WORK LOL
