It’s super weird breaking the internet veil of anonymity, but I’m going for it anyway.
I had my makeup trial this morning and I wanted to get some feedback!
I personally really loved the lip color she’s used, and everyone who has seen the makeup in person thinks the lip color is perfect. Everyone who has seen a photo thinks the lip color should be more rosey and a little darker. Any thoughts on what I should do here? I don’t want it to look too dark IRL but I also want it to show up nicely in photos! My mom really likes how it looks now and she’s usually a good judge of this, but I just don’t know!
Right before I went in for my trial:
And after (I tried to get it in some different lighting):

Hey there! You look really pretty:) I think your eye make up is spot on and will look great in photos, but I do think your lip colour could be slightly darker. Not by much though, as you don’t want it looking too heavy. Probably looks great in person but I think for photos a little darker will look nice. Maybe have her use a lipliner a tone darker than your own shade and the current gloss she used over it? Loving your eyelashes!

You look very pretty! I agree with PP about a different lip color. Also, I would have preferred some highlight/contour and maybe less eyeliner or did you want a darker/smokey type eye??

Your eyes are stunning!! I love the way she did your make-up! And your complexion is flawless!
I see what you mean about the lip colour. I don’t think it’s bad. But if you wanted a darker look, you could go a shade or two darker. The tone is perfect for you!

Wow. I think everything looks perfect. Your eyes are stunning!

Gorgeous! I love the eye makeup. It really makes your eyes pop! 🙂

Thanks for the feedback! She did use a liner under the lip stain and then a gloss over the liner and stain. Maybe I could do the liner one shade darker and keep the stain and gloss the same — that’s a good idea!
And I love the eyelashes too! Thanks so much 🙂 It’s my first time ever wearing falsies (because I didn’t want to do that for the first time on the wedding day) and I’m surprised at how unobtrusive they feel!
Thanks for the feedback! I think I would like more contour, too, or maybe just a touch more blush on the cheeks. I did ask for a smokey eye! It’s sort of tough to see in pics but it’s more of a brown/plum color. I said no to any black, haha.
Thank you! I honestly did not know WHAT to make of my complexion when I walked out of there because I’m so not used to seeing myself with an even complexion, LOL! I have to e-mail her later to thank her again.

Thanks so much! You made my day!
Thank you!! I’m so glad that came through. I asked her to really enhance my eyes because they’re my favorite feature!

Your eyes look amazing!! But I do agree maybe and some more rosey lip color not too much though just enough to set it off 🙂 Other than that maybe some blush and its perfect 🙂

Just popping in to say – GORGEOUS!! You will look beautiful on your wedding day 🙂 Could maybe do a shade darker on the lips, but I honestly would tread lightly with that.

Lovely! It does seem that the lip color is a little light when photographed, it doesn’t seem much different from your natural color. Not that that’s a bad thing! I guess I would try a shade darker if I was you.

Thanks so much! Maybe I’ll do one shade darker on the lip liner underneath. I’m so excited now for my makeup on the wedding day! This was a really great trial.
Thank you so much! You’re so sweet!! I am so with you on the treading lightly. When I left, I told my MUA that one of my favorite parts was the lip color and when my mom saw it, she agreed! I think it might also just be that my cell phone camera isn’t all that great, either. My mom thinks I should keep it as is!

I’d do darker on the lips. If it isn’t being picked up in photo’s now what will they look like in your wedding photo’s?

Thank you! It’s so strage because IRL it looks a bit darker and much more rosey than my natural lip color. I really loved the color she put on, so if I switch it up, I might just do a shade darker but not by much.

Hopefully my wedding photographer’s camera is a bit better than my cell phone one 😉 But I see what you’re saying! My mom made me nervous because she said the color was lovely but she was worried that if I went darker, it would look to heavy. It sounds like I might be able to go a shade or two darker from everyone on here, though!
