I had my second makeup trial this afternoon. I went the airbrush route this time because I have a good amount of imperfections I want covered on my wedding day. This second artist will also be able to cover the tattoo on my upper right shoulder for me, which is awesome. She’s definitely more expensive, but after my trial today I can see why. I wasn’t a huge fan of my eye makeup from the first trial but I think the second artist totally nailed it. I’m including pictures from both trials just for reference. Which do you all like better?
These first two are from the first trial. She used mac products and my skin broke out like crazy. I also think she went a little too heavy with the bronzer. I feel like a look a little orange. The foundation also has SPF in it, which I’ve heard doesn’t do well with flash. I’m having an evening wedding so it’s something I’m definitely worried about. I also think the eye makeup was way too dark & not blended well at all.
My chin is a little lighter for some reason. She went back over it after she finished my eye makeup because there was a black speck on my chin. I think it will be a little more even on my wedding day.I think she might have gone a little too light overall, but at least I’m not as orange as the first trial.
Do you think the airbrush is worth the extra time & money?
ETA: I took out one of the pics when I realized it wasn’t exactly flattering 🙂

While I prefer the airbrush to the traditional foundation, the chin color as you mentioned is off and that is a red flag for me personally. Also, the eyes are on the right path compared to the first pic but they need more. And there is hardly any cheek color and no lip color? Do you have some photos you can post that you like as inspiration? I love using Google images for this! Did you shbow the artist any pics or tell them what you like? You are really pretty and have nice features, I dont think either makeup job is highlighting or bringing out the best in you.

Personally, I don’t like how your entire eye is rimmed in eyeliner in the second trial. It makes your eyes look smaller and in my opinion it is an outdated makeup technique.

@MissTatas: I agree. Looking now, I think the entire outline is the part that I didnt like much.

@purple_sofia: Thanks for the feedback. I know that my chin is lighter because she had to go back over it at the end because of the eye makeup that she accidently got on there. She let me know that if something like that happened on my wedding day, she would start over. And she going to do my eye makeup first, so hopefully that doesn’t happen again.
I showed her this for inspiration:
I guess she definitely could have added more cheek color. I told her I didn’t want my eyes quite as dark as this picture though. I actually do have lipstick on in the second trial, but it’s pretty light. Do you think I need more eye makeup?

@MissTatas: Hmm… I guess I prefer the outdated look then. 🙂 I usually rim my whole eye when I wear dark liner. I just think it looks odd when you stop half way. But thanks for the advice.
If anyone has pics of what you think I should go with to highlight my features that would be awesome!
Thanks again ladies!
