The wedding’s getting so close (9 weeks from today!!!!!) and there’s so little left to decide but I can’t stop obsessing over it. I keep finding new things to stress about. Today it’s whether I want to DIY my hair and makeup, both of which will be very simple, or if I need to get a professional, as people seem to suggest. There are multiple problems with this though. 1) I will be getting married in a different city from where I live, so I don’t have a chance to go to the person more than a day before the ceremony. 2) The wedding is in the middle of no where, so I’d either have to make it last 8 hours or pay someone an insane fee to drive an hour and a half to the venue. 3) I’m really cheap and paying for the wedding myself.
Anyone in a similar situation? I’m not sure what to do.

@katehh08: I had a Destination Wedding in St Thomas and I booked someone to come to my hotel and do both hair and makeup…..even thou I do a good job on both I really didn’t want to lift a finger that day. I figured that I would be a big ball of nerves and the last thing I would want to do is my hair and make up
I researched the area where I got married and picked a very reputable salon and booked with them. I too did not have a trial being a Destination Wedding. I talked in detail with the stylist ahead of time and emailed pics of my hair and the styles I liked.
I then had a hair trial in my home town with my normal hair stylist to get an idea of what it was I wanted then I took tons of pics to give to the person doing my hair in St Thomas. Everything all worked out well!
You might also want to post this over on the Destination Wedding boards and start a thread for recomendations….where are you getting married? Maybe someone on the Destination Wedding boards could help out.The place you are getting married should have recomendations of people good in the area as well!
