I would pay for tables of 8. 10 at a table that size would feel too crowded for me

I think 10 would be a little tight but probably alright. Usually I see 72” tables with 10.

As a guest I wouldn’t feel comfortable sitting at a table with 10.

Could you have a table with family photos and a table for cards & or gifts? Having a cosy corner might fill up space? Chivari chairs are smaller but still comfortable to sit on I’ve found.

We are only having about 120 guests and the capacity is around 300. But this will leave a large section for mingling, dancing, moving around, etc. I think it’s better to have too much space than not enough
