Probably a dumb question but is there a way to make a bustier more comfortable? I got one to wear under my dress and boning in sides sits right on my hips. I’m a plus size woman so it really digs in and hurts. I don’t want to be in pain and adjusting it all day. I got a big bust so thats a lot of weight pushing down on it. I have a lace up style dress and once I put that on and lace up it does of course lift my bust and alleviate the pinching and stabbing but it is still there some. Does anyone else have this problem or gone threw this that know of a way to fix this problem? possibly sew some kind of padding over the wires or something?

Honestly? There’s not too much you can do. Here’re some options for increasing comfort:
- go up in size (bigger bustier = more room = less digging)
- lose weight (smaller body = more room = less digging)
- wear the bustier between now and your wedding either to: 1) get more used to the digging/squashing feeling of shapewear or 2) break the bustier in by stretching it out a bit
- I like the idea of sewing softer/plusher fabric on the inside of the bustier (ask your seamstress about this option).

@jbbs1222: Ugh don’t do this to yourself. Is there any way you can have cups added into your dress instead of wearing this bustier? OR mine is pretty comfy on its own BUT i am also doing shapewear first from under breast bone down to thigh. Like a long bike short to suck in my stomach and firm up my things and then I am putting bustier OVER that. So it’s not touching skin but rather the long shapewear?
my shapwear shorts: SOOOO comfy. It’s TC Fine Intimates brand – less bulky than spanx brand:

Then I am putting bustier OVER them so it’s not even really touching most of my skin:

jessyrez the second pic you posted is actually the one I have. I also have a slip that I’ll be wearing and I’ve trying pulling that up and putting it under the bra but that just felt weird and I could still feel it. Plus it stuck out under my dress. I’m getting a new dress now so not sure how it will affect the new dress or what kind of support it will have yet. I’ve tried it with just a strapless bra but my bust is too big and I just look too “saggy” for that. Thats why i got the bustier in the first place. I’ve also tried out the shapewear kind of spanks things and I really didnt like those. I have some control top underwear for my tummy and the slip I have kinda sucks me in too. I think my issue is I bought a size to fit my body and not my bust. My usual bra size is a 44D so just doing padding ad going braless is deffinately not an option.

Man that sucks. I am sorry. I would buy another one and resell the first one. I wouldn’t be able to walk around with that all night it would drive me crazy. Perhaps DB can let you exchange it? I wonder if it’s just the fit because I have super sensitive skin and mine dos not bother me – HOWWVER the back loops are too big right now I have to get them resized and taken in smaller. I bought it for the Dirty Delete cups since they fit perfectly. Seamstress is going to take in the back.

@jbbs1222: you should buy a stretchy one without boning
