I don’t think Steven did it (obviously, Brendan didn’t).  But who did?!  The whole thing is really f’d up and stepping foot in WI terrifies me!  I just can’t believe how this all is going down.  They need to release Brendan.  Can you imagine how sick it would actually be if his brother killed her and he let him rot in prison because of it?  The whole case is awful and people need to get their S#%^ together and find the actual killer.

Dr_dazzle :  it is hard because we are only presented with the evidence that helps the defense’s case. It’s very one sided and one would think that the prosecution must have more damning evidence if the decision was not reversed by the higher courts. For this reason, we don’t know if Steven Avery was wrongfully convicted. 

The prosecutor’s behavior is unforgivable. The press conference talking about how the victim was tortured, strangled, gang raped, etc. is appalling and tarnished her memory. Plus if her body was burned, I’m not sure they could 100% tell that exact trauma happened to her. Regardless, his insensitivity is almost as disgusting as his inappropriate text messages with domestic violence victims. 

What everyone can probably agree on is that sentencing a minor with a very low IQ to a lifetime in prison is not right. His coerced/coached confession is disgusting. He recanted to his mom the first chance he could. He thought he could leave and go back to class after confessing to rape/murder! He clearly did not comprehend what he was saying. He just wanted to get out of the interrogation room as fast as possible. Had a parent or guardian been with him, he would be a free man.

Westwood :  You’re from the area!? Whoa. Please explain more. I mean based on the documentary I don’t think they’re guilty. At minimum there’s no way any ethical judge or DA would have convicted Brendan. It is sickening how they coerced and coached him for that interrogation. It pains me to even watch. We haven’t finished the second season yet but didn’t believe he was guilty after the first. I am interested in hearing more.

Oh  yeah the dumbest thing ever was the girlfriend he really thought was going to marry him and cared about him. Like did you really think this wasn’t for her 5 minutes of fame!? How can one be so stupid. Blasted him on Dr. Phil and everything.

Following on why hes a monster? Dudes done 18years for a rape he never did. And he doesn’t come across as incredibly intelligent, so cant believe he isn’t somehwat fucked up from it all but…

“monster” to me is someone who tortures people or animals or guilty of his first charge- or the owner of those sick images on the computer.

I’m like 99% sure Steven didn’t do it, at least Brendan didn’t but the things that stick to me besides everything you already wrote are:

Whats up with the guy that saw the rav4 and told the policeman that ended up being one of the policemen that testified? He also told Brendan’s stepfather he saw it!! 

AND the most important one, why the heck the lawyers didn’t investigate why the ex boyfriend had Teresa’s planner?? She frocking wrote something the day she disappeared!!!!! Uggghhhh

When I watched that part I was SOLD on the ex boyfriend and he even moved to her house after she disappeared obviously to insert himself in the investigation and hide evidence.

My fiancé also couldn’t watch part 2, me? I binged lol

I won’t be watching part 2. The first film deliberately left out evidence to make him appear more innocent.

I just finished watching part 2, and it was like a punch to the gut!

I think at the very least, both men deserve a retrial.

What I’m wondering is what’s next for these two? It seems like they’re about out of options?

I think the whole thing was very in the defense of Steven. If you read details about the case, it makes the whole thing a little more broad. I think he did it.

Dr_dazzle :  I’m only two episodes into the second season. Now while I’m convinced Steven got a shitty trial with prosecutorisl misconduct I’m not convinced he’s innocent. But they need a new trial for sure.
