- Wedding: May 2012
My fiance and I want to get married in the middle of the Bible belt on a Sunday and still be able to serve alcohol (it will be an interfaith Jewish/Christian wedding and reception). Our reason to have the wedding there is that it’s my hometown, and since my parents will be doing most of the planning/paying, it’d be way easier to have the wedding near where they live.
Unfortunately, there aren’t many venues that fit our needs and we’ll probably have the reception in the front yard. Also, we’d like to have a fiesta themed reception because Mexican food was the first meal I cooked for my fiance. If we could control the weather, we’d have a nice sunny (but cool) day and would put sun sails up to create a venue space (http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Large-Square-Yellow-Sail-Sun-Shade/5593460/product.html)
Instead, we’ll need a tent, but I’d still like a way to make the space feel very open and sunny and like a fiesta, rather than restricted by the tent. I usually feel kind of restricted in the large tents because they’re very bland when it comes right down to it. I’m also usually good at coming up with design solutions, but this one is stumping me.
