It’s not exactly staying at home, but I do mystery shopping!

Now, I don’t make a lot of money from it- usually it’s a $5 payment plus $15 reimbursement for goods/services you purchase- but it’s kind of fun, and helps pay for eating out, more than we’d ordinarily be able to afford! I’ve done a few shops that pay $20 or so, but they’re few and far between. I love the buffalo wild wings shops, though, even though they don’t pay much, because you can go during happy hour and $20 legitimately pays for a whole meal! 🙂

Are you interested in vintage items or other specialty goods? You could start an etsy or ebay shop as a hobby on the side. That might be pretty fun, and you might make a bit more money that way.

Look up “Real Ways to Earn Money Online.” I go there all the time for job leads. If you have experience in writing, editing, tutoring, education, medical stuff, bookkeeping, accounting, finances/taxes, there’s almost certainly something you can do to earn money on the side.

I’ve made as much as a few thousand a month in the past, though those were usually contract jobs. I’d say realistically, most people who work from home will earn several hundred a month.

Not sure what experience you have, but I have an “online classroom,” where I teach a therapy course.  You could teach anything, there are tech courses, language courses, crafting, etc.  It’s a bit of work of course; make videos, market but you get paid per student who registers; you pick the price and the company gets a % of it.  It’s a big initial time commitment, but I make a bit doing that.  The website I use is udemy.com.  I plan on transitioning away from my FT job and doing udemy.com more so I can at least be at home more if not 100%.

There is an online survey website that I make an extra $30 a week on. Opinion Outpost.com

and I do mystery shopping as well.
