So we’re getting married May 5 and got our venue reserved today. Woot! We’ve already booked a DJ and photographer. But I still haven’t committed to a caricaturist.
Also went to a place here in Dallas o look at decor items. I love that place. With the vnue, me and Fi have definitely gotten a clearer vision of what we’re going for. We’re totally going Western. In fact, we’re doing silk bluebonnets in the center peices. Salesplace had some for a reasonable price.
I wish we could do real ones, but they are the state flower and have a really short window for blooming and I’m not willing to worry about being able to get them.
Also went to my first Bridal Show and it was fun, so many vendors, but none for hair/makeup which is the only one I’m looking for actively.
Then we stopped at a barbeque place around the corner from the house, I’d never actually been there before, but I’ve only lived here for a year and hasn’t gotten around to it. The brisket and sides were delicious and can you take a look at these prices?
I’m contacting their catering coordinator on Monday. They do have good yelp reviews.
Fi and I also had a date night and went to a sing along for the movie, the greatest showman. It’s an awesome movie and we really enjoyed it. We we’re annoyed that this was an AMC dine in theater, but I guess only some of the theater are dine in because there was no food service and we arrived hungry 🙁 aoh well, we have more songs we want to dance to lol.
Are any of my fellow May brides about ready?

I’m a May bride (26th) and we’re getting there! Ring shopping next weekend for us, and florist visiting for bouquets!
I need to speak to the church to sort out the service sheets etc and have a meeting with the choir.
It’s all the little things really for us

anabolina : Did you end up chosing the BBQ place for your catering?
I’m also a May bride. We are getting married May 12, 2018. We’ve already booked our venue, caterer, baker, officiant, videographer, photographer, mua and DJ. I have already purchased dress and accessories. The bridesmaids have their dresses and accessories. I have the flower girl dress and accessories. The Ring pillow and flower girl basket. We’ve purchased all gifts for the bridal party. We will get crayons and coloring books and a few other things for the ring bearer and flower girl. The decor for the ceremony and reception have been taking care of (diy).
I think right now the only thing we have to do is finalize our ceremony with the officiant, get the groomsmens suits and accessories and finish paying the vendors which we will have done at the end of March.

Fellow Dallas Bee here. I love the bluebonnets! Maybe you could find a way to mix in some real greenery, like just a few leaves, to the silk flowers.

I think my main thing at the moment is sorting out timings and finalising invitations. Every thing else is mostly done- 19th May will come around soon enough.

Anyone else feel like time is going too quickly? Just short of 3 months to go and I haven’t done any diy stuff and seems like there’s a million tiny details to do! I should stop procrastinating…

May bride as well! Time is getting closer and I’m getting nervous!! We have most of the “big” things done. Still need to have my dress altered, make arrnagments for our pets, order flowers (we’re doing Costco flowers), and I’m sure a million other little things that I’m forgetting.

lovelyruby : Yes, that’s the plan, we are going to do real baby’s breath.
zelda1987 : yes, time is flying by!
I forgive my invites, they are so ‘us’. She even gave me a bluebonnet bouquet lol.
Good luck bees!

Woot, my niece’s dress finally came in and she loves twirling in it. Here’s a couple of shots tonight how adorable she is:
Also, I’m starting to reconsider the whole flower girl thing. We don’t have a wedding party and no flower girls. My sisters just opted to get matching dresses for the girls for the wedding photos. Now here is the deal. I’m now thinking it would be cute to for all our nieces under 10 to be flower girls and drop flower petals at the ring ceremony .
Now the ring ceremony isn’t supposed to have a procession and fi and I will be already married so the plan was for us to all sort of walk in together and sit down until we get up to actually exchange rings.
I’m currently reconsidering and thinking it would be cute to have an unofficial procession. Like everyone else sits down, then the girls come in tossing flower petals and sit beside their parents, then hubby and I walk in and sit down and the ceremony begins.
Arghh, it’s so late to change plans, but the dress above is a cheap Amazon Prime dress, so I could ask the fsil’s if I could buy the dresses for their daughters. Fi does have a lot of nieces, if we invite all our nieces under 10 to be flower girls, we are talking 12 girls, but I think they would get a kick out of it.

I love the flowers at the top you chose, beautiful colour.
Hmmm. 12 flower girls under 10? Sounds cute if you like all the kids, but also could be a screaming disaster if they don’t get along. Are the girls close to each other? And how young is the youngest?
Potential relationship landmine: do you two have any nephews whose mothers will be clamouring for you to add them too?
