I did purple, actually the crystal was called heliotrope. They are very purple in person, but in photographs they look kind of blue. I actually practiced on patent black heels with the AB crystals and they are coming out good. I used a pewter shoe for the actuall purple wedding shoe. It would be good to use the actual color, but I had a hard time finding a purple shoe that I liked with the right size heel so I bought Jessica Simpson in pewter and because it was on clearance. (I will admit the patent leather is easiest as far as seeing where to put each crystal) I wore them all day pretty much, but towards the very end of the night I changed into purple TOMS. I checked my shoes and only 4 crystals fell off one heel and the other none of them did. I useed the E6000 glue and bought 12ss and 16ss crystals. I also used 5ss and 7ss as fillers. Before the actual wedding I tested them out by scrubbing them (kind of with force) to see how many crystals would fall off.  A couple of them did from each shoe so I just glued them on and let them dry and did the process again. I am so excited at how they came out! I LOVE them!!!

@Day_In_The_Life:  No, I did not paint the shoe. I figured it would be too much hassle and I would end up making a mess. I thought about it but after I started and decided not to bother. Unless you look at it super closely you can’t tell it wasn’t painted. The only issue is, since they were peep toe, you can see black in the front of the shoe. Personally I didn’t care, but I know some people would prefer that part to be the color of the crystals. Here is another picture so maybe you can see it better.  Black was part of my color anyways…These are the Josette pumps btw!
