khaleesi13 : I would not go to the Maldives because of their anti-LGBTQ rights and laws. I wouldn’t want to support an economy like that. I’ve been to Barcelona, and it’s probably one of my favourite places in Europe, I would maybe do a few cities in spain not just Ibiza.

Ibiza is a holiday destination. The Maldives has some of the best beaches, turquoise water and snorkelling/diving you can find anywhere in the world. If you go to The Maldives, you will be tied to sticking to a resort island, you can take water taxis to visit other resort islands on a day trip.
Ibiza you can rent a car, the Spanish food will be great, it will be cheaper, you can find nice beaches, but they won’t be as nice as the Maldives and the Mediterranean Sea is not as warm as the Indian Ocean, so not as tropical.
The Seychelles might be a good in between destination for you to consider. Amazing beaches that you can explore with a hire car.

My fiancé and I went to Ibiza in August last year for vacation and we loved it! But we went for the music/partying 🙂 We stopped by Barcelona for a weekend too and fell in love with it. If you aren’t super into concerts/partying I’d avoid Ibiza. While we there we found during off session most of restaurants/bars close, maybe slim picking on good spots.

khaleesi13 : Maldives are very expensive. If you decide to go somewhere beachy and exotic, I’d recommend the South Pacific, particularly the Cook Islands or Samoa. Better bang for buck, and more of an ‘off-the-beaten-path’ vacation, that’ll give you great memories!
