I went to see Calamigo and Adamson House.  I really liked the Adamson House, but don’t like the thought of bringing in restrooms.  Calamigo is priced well, but having other wedding going on at the same time didn’t feel personal.  My planner mentioned Villa de la Vina.  Did you go see it?  It sounds interesting!

I visited Calamigos and didn’t like it.  I felt like it was a wedding factory, with multiple weddings happening everyday on property.  Like ls123 said, it was not a very personal venue.

I know that Stone Manor is expensive, and you also have to hire a parking service since cars aren’t allowed to park on property.

You should check out the Bel Air Bay Club.  They are in Pacific Palisades, but GORGEOUS.  They used to be ‘member only’ but now are open to the public.  We attended a wedding here and will never forget it.  We also visited for our own wedding and prices are not bad at all.

Also check out Rancho Del Cielo in Malibu and Saddlerock Ranch (winery) in Malibu.

I agree Bel Air Bay Club is great, and is reasonable.

I’m having my wedding at Calamigos!… but I agree, it isn’t very personal at all, and extremely difficult to customize anything. And they don’t let you do a tasting, which kind of pisses me off now (though I didn’t think to ask at the time that we booked).

I am getting married at Saddlerock Ranch in June. They have multiple locations within the vineyard to choose from depending on the size of your wedding. The location is breathtaking. We will be in the Dome which overlooks the vineyard. It’s private, there is no noise ordinance so you can be as loud as you want, and the space is yours for 24 hours so you have all the time in the world to party. It does require a little more work as you only rent the space so you have to bring in all the rentals and catering. But they are awesome and the staff will give you a list of preferred vendors that have done events there before. Ask for Beth Neal, the event coordinator.

apaisley – our wedding is June 27th 2010. We just chose Command Performance Catering. They bundle the food and rentals all in one contract. We had our tasting a few weeks ago and it was very good. Trevor is my contact. He has been great to work with. We haven’t found a florist or cake person yet. How about you? When is your wedding? Are you in the Garden or the Dome? Have you chosen any vendors yet?

Jbinkley1-Our wedding is on 6/12/10 and I think we’re going with Contemporary Catering. I have spoken with Trevor at Command Performance, he was great. Our florist is the Flower Lab based out of Santa Monica and we’re doing a desert bar with Sweet & Saucy Shop. We are at the dome as well. How long ago did you book Saddlerock?

My coordinator got negotiatied down the fee, and some other rentals at the Bel Air Bay Club.  I’m deciding between there and Pelican Hill.  I’m sure you could negotiate with them. 🙂
