I was put on oral and vaginal progesterone suppliments after I went for my 1st appt at 8 weeks.  This is my 1st pregnancy and never had any issues up until then so it completely freaked me out that something could be wrong….. it was awful for me.  But the more I researched the more common I found it was and it helped reassure me a little bit.  I stopped taking them at 15 weeks also and didn’t really notice any difference in anything but then again I didn’t have any MS to begin with….I was a lot less tired but not sure if that had more to do with the stage of my pregnancy or the supplements.  My doc checked my levels again at abt 17 weeks and all seemed to be good.  I’m 27 weeks now and everything is perfect so far!!

You already know this, but I’ll still post. ๐Ÿ™‚  I was taken off the progesterone injections around 10 weeks and switched to the suppositories and then stopped them at 12 weeks. My RE had said to go through 12 weeks and my OB agreed, stating the placenta had already taken over at that point so there was no need to continue them anymore. But I wasn’t on any of it for low progesterone problems, but because I had done IVF so they make all women do them *just in case*.  I think you’ll be fine! ๐Ÿ™‚

I was on oral supplements through 12wks and I recall feeling a lot better once I got off them.  I don’nt know what my numbers were, and I don’t think I had any spotting.  Definitely tell your OB if you do, and they might put you on pelvic rest just to be safe.  Yay for 15wks!

@Running Elley:  I was at 8.3 when they first started me on them, tested again a couple weeks later and was at 13 so it increased but they still wanted to keep me on them.  I was at 27 when they told me to stop taking the meds.

@Running Elley:  You alreay know my life story haha but just for the sake of the thread:

Suspecting I had low progesterone from my online research, I started progesterone cream immediately after O…and kept at it until…

5.5w. At that point I went in & my progesterone level was 14.8. OB said the lowest possible level it could hit before I had a definite MC was 14.6. So, needless to say I got my progesterone that same day from a pharmacy that stays open until 9pm.

I started taking the progesterone suppositories and never had any spotting or bad cramping at all. But, I also didn’t work out and took it extrememly easy.

I got BAAADDD M/S but the OB said it was most likely because she was overdosing me with progesterone. She said “better to suffer lots of MS than to suffer a MC”. True!

At 14w she said I was done….but I couldn’t do it. So, I grabbed whatever was left over of my progesterone cream and used that until I was 14+5. Now at 15+5, I am 1 week off progesterone and haven’t had any cramping or spotting.

My next b/t to test my levels is in 17days and assuming that goes well, I’ll start working out again. I feel pretty confident about things now (which is a nice feeling!)

Edit: regarding m/s going away: I still have it but it was insane & debilitating and now it’s gotten better. On a scale of 1-10, mine went from like a 10 to a 3. Of course, even when it was a 10 I was taking medicine to make it a 3. But now ever since progesterone, it’s a 3 even without meds!

@Running Elley:  I did the vaginal supps 3x a day until I was 14 weeks. Then they had me do 2 x a day for a wk and then 1x a day for a week. I am now 30 weeks and had no spotting or complications. They never checked my levels after I stopped the supps
