I prefer Pampers.  More expensive, but I have found them to be worth it.

I’m not a mom, but I work at a daycare so I see all the major brands every day. Huggies and Pampers are the most popular. Honestly, I’ve found no difference between the two.

Wipes are another story, though. Always, always get name brand wipes! The store brand ones tend to cause diaper rash.

I use the Pampers swaddlers.  Huggies is the only other brand I’ve tried and they didn’t fit DS as snugly, so pee would leak out (and not because the diaper was already saturated).

I use Pamper swaddlers.  Granted, I’ve only been a mom a whopping (almost) 7 weeks so it’s not like I’ve tried a billion diaper brands.

FWIW, my cousin uses cloth diapers and LOVES them.  I think she gets the all-in-ones or the ones with an insert.  They’re super cute!  I’m sure the upfront cost is significant, but they are more cost efficient in the long run.

My “favorites” changed as DS grew. The brand that fit him best at one stage wasn’t necessarily the same as the next stage. Sometimes, as he would grow, we even had to switch brands within stages.

Now that we are starting to consider adding to the family, I’m pretty sure we will choose cloth diapers. I’ve decided that if I wouldn’t put those chemicals next to my own skin 24-7 for years, it’s probably best for me to not put them next to my theoretical child’s skin. I’m in the very early leaning stages re. cloth diapering, but from what I’ve read thus far the same addage holds true. The brand that fits one baby best may not necessarily be the brand that would fit my theoretical baby best. The advice seems to be to buy one or two of several different brands and experiment to find what works best for your own little one.

I almost made this thread yesterday haha. We’re planning on using Luvs because they seem to be good quality and cost about 4 cents less/diaper thany other name brands. We’ll see how that works out!

I use Costco diapers (well, now I use cloth, but when we travel, or before that, I used Costco brand). We do use Pampers overnight, but otherwise, Costco’s diapers have been great (and cheap!)

I also make my own wipes. It’s super easy and cheap and then there aren’t any gross chemicals (we decided to try it when DS had a bad diaper rash). You can find the “recipe” all over the internet, but it’s great.

ETA: The only one of the brands above I tried and DIDN’T like was the Target brand. They didn’t work for us at all.

I have a little boy and Pampers all the way. Though we do use Huggies night time diapers due to little boy was leaking through the pampers at night.  I do wish though that Pampers made a slip up diaper (not pull ups, he isnt at that stage yet)  Huggies does make a slip up diaper which I have used before and don’t mind, especially now.  Little boy hates his diaper being changed and it is easier to change him (when wet) standing up.  The Huggies slip on ones make that sooo much easier!

Can’t vote, but I know FI’s SIL loves G-diapers (cloth with a disposable insert).

@vorpalette:  Holy cow, there’s a whole g-diaper sub-culture.  My sister sold some of her *used* $20 cloth diaper covers for $300 on ebay because they were collectors editions.  Of a used diaper. That a baby pooped in and will never wear once they outgrow them.

    Example:

The moms sell the stuff on craigslist and ebay, and many of them know each other through discussion boards.  My sister, who lives in Michigan, bought g-diapers out of the back of someone’s car in a public parking lot in Rochester New York.  She used to anonymously buy diapers from her online friends and immediately resell them for a profit.  It’s a dirty business.

That being said, they are super-cute and other than the ick-factor, they are environmentally friendly.  Though my sister ALSO said that many of the online moms profess to only using g’s while secretly using Huggies at home.

    Blows my mind.
