Man here: I have one (well an engagement ring, not a man-gagement ring bleh) and love it. In fact, I asked for one shortly after getting engaged.

Although my circumstances are a little different, but I still would have wanted one anyway. I work with chemicals that can dissolve precious metals, so wanted one that wouldn’t dissolve to be a daily ring. My engagement ring is silicon and will serve that purpose after getting married. But I’ll also have a more blingy traditional ring.

My friends have matching E-rings that have been passed down his family for 5 gens. I think it’s cute and although not a feminist I do think it unfair that you get a present and he doesn’t. I’ll probably get my other half a leather jacket because he doesn’t do jewelry.

I didn’t get my Fiance an engagement ring, but I did get him a promise ring after he gave me mine. We had already played around with the idea of me getting a promise ring, and I had the idea maybe he would want one, too. Turns out, I was right, and he also brought it up. I got him a tungston silver camo band with his nickname engraved inside, and he wore it up until we got engaged (after that he left it off since he has to work on machines with his hands all day now and a ring can be a potential hazzard).

I’d say if it’s something he would be for, then do it! Otherwise it’s probably unnecissary. Save up for the wedding band!

We got my husband an engagement ring. It definitely helped him get used to wearing jewelry, and he’s to the point where he never takes his ring off(whether it was his engagement ring or now, his wedding ring).

I looked taken with my ring, I wanted him to look taken too! 😛

DH and I mutually decided to get married. My ring was first and it took us a while to find his. But yes, he does have an engagement ring as well as a wedding ring. Like me, he wears them on separate hands.

You’ve actually ordered them! Fantastic! We’d love to see them if you fancied sharing…

I got my husband an engagement ring shortly after he proposed to me (which was a complete surprise). It was a blue and white sapphire ring which he wore everyday until we got married. He picked out his own gorgeous wedding band and now the engagement ring sits in a drawer. However, I might repurpose the stones for a ring of my own!

Wow! I’m not the only one! This is what I insisted on. And actually, he wore his ring for about 2 months before I had mine. ^_^ I, too, really hated the idea of being the only one to look engaged. If I have to wear one, so does he. He doesn’t want a second ring, and I don’t think I do, either, so I think our engagement rings might just also be our wedding rings.

I did and it’s a band. I’ll get him another for his wedding band and he said he’d like to interchange them which is fine by me.
