So I was just curious — how many of you have men that wear an engagement ring as well? My Fiance and I are pretty far from traditional, and he really dislikes the fact that ladies are expected to wear an engagement ring, while men rarely do. When he asked for a ring, I didn’t find it odd at all, but I’m wondering how many of you WOULD find it a bit weird.
I wanted to get him something that didn’t look like a wedding band, and he’s an engineer/math nerd, so when we found this infinity ring, it just seemed absolutely perfect. =P

Where I grew up, there’s no such thing as a “diamond wedding ring”. Usually you don’t wear rings at all until you marry, but if you choose to do so, both men and women wear a band on their right hand ring finger.

My Fi had one, he felt the same way. He wanted to show he was engaged, his ring was stolen sadly

Oh yeah when I got my engagement ring he ended up buying one himself. He totally suprised me. He got the Lord of the Ring – The one ring to rule them all, and he absolutely loves it.
He told me that he wanted to show off that he is engaged to me, so if he wants a ring I am more then happy to encourage him!

@bebero: Well that’s interesting! I love how different cultures have different traditions in regards to the kind of ring, and what hand it’s worn on. Where are you from, if you don’t mind me asking? 🙂
I think it’s awesome when guys want to show off the fact that they’re engaged! So sad that it was stolen! 🙁
Haha! I LOVE that he has a one ring as his engagement ring. That’s just so perfect! xD

BUMP! I’d love to see more pictures if any bees have them. I briefly looked into getting an engagement ring for SO but all of the rings that I found were ugly or just not him.

Dh wore his wedding ring before we were even officially engaged! I don’t understand why women do and not men.

My SO wants an engagement ring 🙂 he wants everyone to know he is taken when we get engaged which I personally love! I have been browsing wedding bands for his engagement ring but haven’t found the perfect one yet lol

@Aennie: I don’t find it weird at all. In fact I find it a bit odd that women typically wear one and men typically don’t. That being said Fiance does not wear one, but he works with his hands and will probably not wear his wedding band very often either.

Yep, my fiance wanted one right after he gave me mine. I picked out three or four, he approved them all and then we went together to the store and I surprised him! The ring matches mine (diamond and sapphire) and will be his wedding band as well, I’ll just have it engraved. He loves wearing it. But, then again, he also tells people we’re already married!
