Can you post a picture of the c&c ring? The reason why jtv and cheap ebay moissanite is less expensive is because of the inferior cut, color, and clarity.  C&c is to be more expensive than let’s say moissaniteco.com.

I’d use moissaniteco.com as a vendor, way more selection than C&C and more competitive prices… But their settings are from stock casting houses. I recommend Joseph Schubach jewelers for a custom piece with their Radiance moissanite.

Do be aware that moissanite develops an oxidation stain that can be quite the pain to keep away/clean. It happens with about 30% of moissanite. I now regret getting one instead of a diamond because my stain doesn’t go away.

Brian2: A lot of the bees on here have purchased their moissanite and have gone to a local jeweler to have them build the perfect ring.  You don’t have to purchase the entire setting! Many on here will also recommend checking with David Klass, as he has made several rings on this site alone. Do a google search and see if there are any jewelers in your area who work with it. You may find something special or custom without extra cost!

I would go with moissaniteco.com! They have amazing rings and the price is defiantly better than what you have been quoted. All their rings are made to order and you can do any customization you want. I love my ring so much and would 100% recommend moissaniteco to anyone!

I have 5 moissanite rings. 4 C&C and 1 JTV moissanite. One C&C (princess cut) did chip after 2 years ,i believe it was. The other C&C (oval) is still in perfect condition since 2013, and my two half eternity rings are also in great condition. Bought a JTV 9mm last September and its super clean( no yellow/green tints). I have not experience any oil slick some ladies talk about, with any of my rings. I also just boght a bow style moissanite ring for my teen daughter from JTV, it’s also super clean. I wear the C&C as a right had ring all the time (do dishes, shower, sleep, swim) and have had no issues what so ever. The JTV also wear it all the time, but i do not shower or do dishes with it on. Mostly because its big and it gets in the way. With any company you choose, im sure she will like it, and remember that you can always return it if you arent happy with how it looks in real life. As far as JTV, ive only had luck with their moissanites ( one 9mm, 1ct studs and now my daughters ring). Ive had to return two of their Ruby rings, and  some bella luce. they have a great return policy. Best of luck shopping and have fun.

Maybe im a pain but i say go with diamond, because mossy discolours and goes glassy plus for me it somehow loses its sparkle and also isnt as hard wearing

Hey there 🙂 I bought my C&C stone from Overstock.com and had it set in a custom setting from a local jeweler. You don’t have to buy a complete ring if you want to create something more unique to you two as a couple.

I would also recommend looking at diamondbistro.com, as they have A TON of moissanite rings, both custom and not that are usually less than half the cost of buying brand new. Happy hunting and congratulations!

There is no need to pay more than $600 for a moissanite ring. You can find some great selections in that price range. I found mine for about $400. Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of it because my ex-hole stole it. And you couldn’t tell the difference if it was diamonds or moissanite. It actually shined more brilliantly than my engagement ring (which also stolen by the ex-hole).

But yea, with moissanite, you can easily stick to the max $600 budget and you won’t be disappointed.

Brian2 :  Warranty does not cover it. The recurrent stain necessitating frequent, repeititive scrubbing is too common.  Do a search, many, many threads on this forum and other forums about that particular issue…

Congrats on your engagement. For $2500 for that ring,  you must be getting a very nice gold setting! As a pp mentioned,  I would check with your fiance that she is ok with a diamond simulant stone before purchasing though…

Congrats again!
