Just thought I would share with everyone my very special Man of honour story.
I grew up not having my aunt around. I dont know her, or her children. Its never really bothered me.
Because I have my mom’s best friend. She used to pick me and my sisters up from school. We would spend nights at her place. And even let us be there when she had her son.
When I introduce them to people I was say “This is my aunt and my little cousin” or sometimes even my “other mother” and “little brother”
They are very important people in my life. Her son is now 10. He has a great relationship with my Fiance and whenever we babysit him I can usually find them playing pokemon cards or video games.
When we got engaged I knew I would have to have a very special role for them. I want my “Aunt” to know just how much she means to me. So I asked her son to be my Man of Honor.
She looked like she was going to cry. And of course in his silly fashion he said “Can’t your dad do it?”
I feel very blessed to have these two in my life. I am looking froward to my special day with him standing with us and knowing my aunt is in the crowd proud as can be!
I wanna hear other great stories! Anyone else have a non-family “Family” member that made a difference in your life? Do tehy have a special role to play?
