I would go over her head and speak to someone, saying you were told to find someone to replace you, you did, and now she’s going back on the arrangement. You won’t necessarily be fired for calling in sick but it will probably land you in hot water–if you don’t show up, what happens? Unless Christmas is an acknowledged holiday within your company and job description, I’m not sure you can argue that you didn’t agree to work it–it’s technically just another Friday.

I feel sorry for you. I hope you can get another supervisor to agree to the arrangement you made regarding the replacement.

Considering she doesn’t seem like like anyone, calling in sick could really screw up your position there. You may not get fired, but you could get some very nasty shifts and treatment from there on. Do you have an  HR department you can talk to, or someone else higher up?
