I’m going to have major surgery next month that will require 6 weeks of recovery time. I’ve procrasinated about my fitness and losing weight. Now I’m worried that I’ll either gain weight during recovery or have a hard time losing enough weight and getting in tip top shape before my wedding post recovery. SN: I’m also feeling the pressure of finding a dress before I go under the knife. The surgery will require a lateral cut to be made on my tummy. Our core is used for everything. So I won’t be doing a lot of moving around for at least three weeks.
Does anyone have any words of advice on how I can manage my weight during recovery?

Do the six week body makeover during recovery. It is healthy and really revs your metabolism even without exercise. Just be very strict with yourself and prepare your meals now and freeze them. I will be praying for a speedy recovery 😀

Good luck with the surgery! I hope you have a nice, easy recovery.
When I had surgery a few years ago I made sure to just eat well during my recovery (not so easy when you are house bound with lollies.) And ultimately – not to worry too much. Sleep, rest, recouperation and not doing anything more than your doctor says is key during this period.

@Secondchances: I’ve never heard of the six week body makeover. I’m going to look it up. Pre-packaging and freezing meals is a really good idea.
@CupcakeLove: I’m trying to stay positive and stress less. I will definitely follow the doctors orders 🙂

I had tummy surgery about 6 weeks ago too, and I actually lost 12 pounds! I didn’t do anything really for a couple weeks but I did start walking a little after that. But mostly, I just haven’t been hungry!
