Hello Bees,
My husband has no fashion sense. His wardrobe consists of jeans, t-shirts and a few button-down short sleeved shirts. When we went on our honeymoon we encountered dress codes for dinner at the resort we stayed at. There we were in sweltering, humid Mexico in August and he was wearing jeans, t-shirt, button-down shirt and high top vans – not my idea of “resort wear.” Needless to say he got sweaty every night when we went out to dinner and was miserable.
I am determined to get him a few resort appropriate pieces for our anniversary trip this year, but what I am having the most trouble with are the shoes. Obviously high top sneakers don’t work. He does not like flip-flop or thong style sandals (says it bothers his toes???).
Ladies, what do your men wear in the heat on their feet?
These are the only sandals he has:

My hubby wears thong sandals. However, I must say before he bought these sandals he only had the above adidas sandals in blue -UGH!
I saw the thong sandals in the store and said how nice they were – he tried them on and really liked them. He used to always say the reason he didn’t like thong sandals was because of the “thong part” but now he wears them a lot!!!!!

Honestly? Mine just wears his hot sweaty shoes. He has some weird phobia of wearing sandals in public. That being said, I’ve already told him that going on a cruise doesn’t count as ‘public’ so he HAS to wear sandals. He has a nice pair of Reefs that I bought him a few years ago, that I’ll have him pack.

Its not any use, but mine wears reef type sandals or other brands. Most men’s sandals are thong style. He does have to get used to them if they bother his toes, I do every year.
Teva has a lot of non-thong sandalsor Birkenstock (I personally dont like them, but many do)
Buy him a nice pair of leather or fabric flip flops and see if he will start to wear them around the house to break them in.

I did find these at the above site if he likes that kind of style. I prefer the thong styles however.

What about deck shoes? like these

Darling Husband had the nerdiest sandals before. AND he tried to wear them with socks. I had to put a stop to that quick. He wears ones that look like these now:

They’re not great, but they’re an improvement!

Sorry about the mandals and number thing… not sure how that got there, or how to get rid of it. Oh well 🙂

My Fiance pretty much only wears thong sandals. He only wears other shoes when he has an important meeting at work, or when we go out to somewhere really nice.

What about “dress” sandals? Do guys under 40 wear these?

My husband mostly wears his stinky shoes lol. He is a Southerner, his body is used to being overheated!

Darling Husband wears thong sandals in the summer that are leather. They are reefs and he loves them. Why do those bother your hubbys toes?? My reef sandals that are leather are THE most comfortable flip flops ever. They are formed to my foot!
What about getting him boat shoes? They are really comfortable and look good with anything AND can be worn all year round!

Sanuk’s are perfect for him! My hubby loves them because they look like shoes, are super comfy, but they are sandals! These are the ones he has:
