Who is your planner?  There is so much that goes into figuring this out.  I planned my NYC loft wedding from Missouri and could not have managed without my two planners.  They were great.  Juliet Events, highly recommend them.

NYC passed hor d’oevres tend to be more elegant (white glove service).  If you tell them, say you are having your 185 guests, then there will be plenty of selection.  No stations here because the venue is not “banquet” in nature.  It’s more modern, chic and cosmopolitan.  Have a “signature cocktail” for more fun and order starchy-based appetizers with meat and potatoes. You may want to ask them to serve a rice dish, say with shrimp or chicken which they can serve in spoon sized dishes.

Yes, it will seat your 185 for dinner – and no, never are all guests seated formally in any cocktail hour.  Some prefer standing, particularly in light of the views.  I would not worry about all sitting during that time.  Do check out other venues like –

Astra, NYC

Bryant Park Grill

Sequoia’s (ark restaurants)  and

Let me know if you need help.  I’m a wedding coordinator from NYC and can assist you.  I’m cheap!  (646 684 4294)
