I am in the same boat!  I think you could pull it off cause your dress is fairly simple and doesn’t have a lot of embelishments.  Espcially one like in the second pick.  Do you know the details about that veil?

Maybe you can compromise and go with a simple straight ribboned edge like the one below.  I think you can still have any length you want.  However, if your dress dress doesn’t have a train, then I don’t recommend a veil that touches the floor either.  I can just imagine someone stepping on it, and your head being pulled back.  Ow!

Edit:  For some reason I can’t upload the picture, so here’s a link to it instead:

One other option if you feel daring, is to make your veil the way you want, and use a piece of the lace to adorn your dress, perhaps around your hips where the rouching stops.  Then the dress and veil would look like they were meant to go together.

i think it would be really pretty! Since your dress is simple, a mantilla veil would add a romantic feel to it! I love mantilla veils!

I’m a little late to this post….but I just discovered the Melissa Sweet Saffron veil. I definitely can not afford the real one, but my grandmother is a seamstress and would make a similar one for me! @Meganm84: Please let me know if you’ve found any lace similar to the Saffron! I honestly had dreams about that veil last night (how embarassing)

Since your dress has no other embelishments, I think a mantilla veil would totally work with it!

@Meganm84 – I will definitely let you know if I find anything and appreciate you doing the same! Have you gone to any bridal fabric stores? I’m wondering if they might have something similar. Or even the garment district in NY or Philly. I live close(ish) to both cities. I might have to take a trip specifically for this!

Upon further inspection of the saffron veil it looks as if small pieces were cut from a big piece of lace and were strategically sewn one by one onto the veil. Does that make sense??
