We had a mazanita tree for our seating cards.  There’s a great tutorial on the Nettleton Hollow blog.  If you choose to set the branches in plaster, remember to do it in a flexible plastic container, since the plaster expands as it sets.  I learned the hard way after pouring it straight into a lovely ceramic planter, which began to crack after a day or two!  Surprised
