The wedding and ceremony are at the same basic location (a college campus).
The campus is not easy to get to (in a residential area).
Once on campus, there’s a chapel to find (for the ceremony) and then the reception site (for those coming late). And, on top of that, parking to find.
So…. my question is: what kind of maps do I need to include in the invitation?
I have a wedding website with links to the college website – that details how to get there from all directions.
I do think I need SOMETHING in the invitation.
Do you think it would suffice to have a map TO the college with details on how to find parking (to make it even more difficult, there are multiple parking lot options). I’m hoping to have some signs from the parking lot areas pointing the way…. but, need to figure out what to include in the invites.

I like option 2 with the map to campus and a campus map along with details on parking. I know everyone has the internet to be able to get to the locations but they will really need the info on parking since that it’s readily available (and they don’t want to get ticketed for being in the wrong lot).

@MissAsB – good point about specifying free parking, etc.
I’m having such a hard time figuring out how to format 2 maps on one card…. le sigh. I thought about doing a 2-sided card, but I think it will be too confusing.

I think if you only wanted to include one map I would prefer a map of the campus, as I know how confusing they can be to navigate! While most campuses have “streets” that run through them, it is difficult to give directions through words.
A map to the campus is less necessary as long as you give the address to the campus, I think.

I think you could put it all one map. I made mine in Adobe Illustrator and put both the ceremony and reception on it even though they were on opposite sides of the city…so I think it would work to include everything you need since everything is a lot closer on a campus versus half of a larger city!

I’m one of those brides who doesn’t trust her guests to know how to get from point A to point B, so I’m all for giving them as much info as possible. I also wouldn’t expect them to go out to your website; a lot of people don’t even bother looking.
I recently made my map and it turned out incredibly cool (below)! See this post for directions to make yours. I’d suggest doing a “zoom in” on your campus to show where the parking and important buildings are.

I’m in a similar situation.
I put the address of the site on the card along with in-city directions and a map of the city with the site marked. At the end of the directions I put “Please visit our wedding site for on-campus directions”. On our wedding site I did photo directions to our actual venue.
This is my stuff:
