I am thinking of having maple candies as my favors, since I’m having a Fall wedding in New England. I was thinking of putting a couple of candies in a cello bag with a ribbon. I don’t really want to include a tag or anything though just because I am not very DIY and don’t have the time/energy to do that. Do you think it’s okay to just put the bag at everyone’s plate without saying "Thanks for coming to our wedding. Enjoy this favor" or something like that on a tag. People will get it, right?

Personally, I wouldn’t not have a tag. You can even order pre-printed ones and tie it on or have a Bridesmaid or Best Man do it or something.
Its like your guests showing up in their nice clothes and bedhead….like they just couldn’t be bothered with that last detail.

Yum. I looove all things maple flavored! I’ve seen this done both with and without a tag. It *is* nice to have a tag, but as long as the ribbon is colorful, tied nicely and matches with your theme, it’s probably fine. I suspect a number of people will be too busy ripping into the bag to notice the tag anyway.

A tag is nice, but I agree that they are a lot of work. Are you dead-set on having the favors at each place setting?
Could you have a table or baskets set up near the end of the event with a sign that says something along the lines of "Thank you for coming! Please take a favor on your way out"
This way everyone knows for sure that the maple candies (ymmy!) are their favor & it cuts down on all the signage time 🙂
