@The_Future_KB:  I made my maps in photoshop, that way I could use my wedding colors and coordinate them with the rest of the invite.

With things like Google Maps, Mapquest and GPS…. I don’t really see a map as being necessary.

If you really want to add a map though you can go about using photoshop to make one.

@The_Future_KB:  I printed my own invites at home, so it was all the same paper.  I would think if you’re going to a professional printer they could match the paper for you, or you could just ask the company doing your invites how much an extra insert would cost.  On my “directions” insert card, I put a picture of the map as well as written directions from the airport (since my guests are flying in from other states).  My hotel, ceremony and reception are all at one location, so this made it really simple for me.  I do agree with Cady if your guests are local though, everyone has google maps.

@The_Future_KB:  It is pretty unlikely that will happen, but it can I guess.  If you want the peace of mind then you can at least just add directions. Probably easier then adding a map and most people only need directions.

There are graphic artists and stationers that can do really cute hand-drawn maps for you.  It’s an expensive service though and more of an indulgence than a necessity.  A card with your website that links to Google Maps with directions is easy enough.

I had the girl who designed our invitations make a a directions card to match our invitation. I’m sure you can have a printer do it for you for cheap.

Generic rant: if you’re not going to do a map (which I don’t think is really necessary honestly), please for the love of god google your venue and make sure their directions are right! Darling Husband and I had a wedding a while ago and the google directions were like 2 miles off lol. We were ready to kill someone by the time we found the place haha.

@Westwood:  I had this same problem once when going to a wedding. We usually just google the directions, but since there were directions already inserted, we just went along with that. I and several other guests went way past the venue and got totally lost.
