I am doing good.  I feel like I have accomplished alot.  Still need to:

Finish putting together invitations (DIY), mail them in January, put together survial kit for Bridesmaid or Best Man, get wedding bands for both of us, finish centerpieces (DIY – almost done), get our marriage license, send DJ our song list, go for dress fitting (scheduled for January), pick out tux rentals for guys, create escort cards (need to wait for RSVP’s to come back and DIY), get garter, pick excursions for honeymoon (taking a cruise), decide on hair style for day of, find after party dress (we are going out after wedding is over with friends since we will have the limo for 5 hours and I don’t want to wear my ankle length bridal dress), finish wrapping favors…..

I think that is it.  I hope so!  With the holidays I am afraid the only one of these things that I will accomplish will be the invitations since they have to go out in January!  For the RSVP date, we put 2/1 since we need to have a final head count for their meal selection 2 weeks before the date.  That will give us enough time to call anyone that doesn’t RSVP in time.

My ladies are ordering their dresses by next month. They’re currently making travel plans. All the men have suits.

Still paying things off: reception venue, flowers, photography, etc.

I still need alterations on my dress…

Have to plan the ceremony and touch base with our wedding coordinator.

And…I have to send invitations and start my DIY projects.

AHHH! So many to-dos!

@Solar 40 I got the idea from other bee’s and loved it.  They put a poem with it so I took bits & pieces from the different poems to make it my own.  Most items you can get at a dollar store so they are not very expensive to put together.  The kit includes: lotion, tissues, a wisp toothbrush, nail file, shout (the wipes), mints, tylenol & tums in a small plastic container, a few band aids wrapped with ribbon, wine glass that I had painted and backed (got this from another bee – it was really easy, fun & cheap), hanger (this part of the poem I made up my self – I made them wire hangers with their name on them), small bottle of wine, lint roller and even though its not included in the bag, I am paying to have their make-up done so I added it to the poem.  I am putting everything in a tote bag that I had personalized with their name.  I will tie the poem to the bag (somehow – haven’t figured this part out yet) so that they see it when I give it to them.

Here’s the poem to go with it:

This Survival Kit was made just to say,

I’m thankful you’re beside me on my wedding day!

Lotion so your hands will never feel dry,

And a packet of tissues in case you should cry.

A tiny toothbrush to whiten your smile

If a nail should break, I’ve included a file.

There is Shout if you should spill on your dress,

And mints to keep your breath minty fresh.

There’s Tylenol and Tums if it’s ill that you feel,

And Band-aids to help you if you tackle high heels.

I’ve also included a pretty wine glass,

to help ease the stress when I’m a pain in the ass.

Hang your dress from a hanger made especially for you,

And your make-up will look great in the afternoon too.

There’s some booze to help you get a quick buzz

And a lint roller to remove any hair or some fuzz.

Hopefully this kit makes it clear to see

How special you are to the bride-to-be

I’ll forever be thankful for all that you do,

For being my bridesmaid, and just being you

@italiaangel80:  I’m sooooo interested in doing a survival kit for my bridemaids now.  Thanks for all the tips!!!!

I feel like I have soooooooo much to do still.  The biggest major thing I have left is finding a DJ.  But a friend gave me a number to the DJ she used for her wedding so I plan on calling him tomorrow 🙂  I also have to finish my invites (DIY), Smores Favors (can’t do until the week of), dress alterations, bridesmaids are ordering their dresses this weekend, groomsmen and groom attire, bridal party gifts, parents gifts, marriage license, write our vows, finish up programs, ALOT more, this is just alll I can think of right now.

Looking at everyone else list makes me feel better though.  I guess now that I look I’m not doing too bad at all.  🙂

Argh! I still need to get alterations on my dress. I’m hoping to have this done by end of December so I can do bridal portraits in January. What is the Melina for alterations, anyway?

@razzelbride – I know how you feel.  Now that Christmas is over, it seems like there is no time to finish everything needed to do.  Right now, I am finishing my invitations which go in the mail on Monday!  Only 18 left to put together (thank goodness)!
