Any other bees with a March 2015 wedding date also super excited we have less than a year to go now?? It makes it seem so much more real!
Where are we at with planning? Nearly done or haven’t thought about it? March is the most popular time of year for weddings where I live so we had to get organised early!
Safe to say I can’t wait! Looking forward to hearing from other month/date twins, i’m sure there will be plenty more joining us as the year goes by!

YAY! Less than a year to go. I just got my dress yesterday and ordered my reception dress. Fiance and I will be meeting with our venue coordinator this month to go over our theme. We are also getting our engagement photos taken this weekend, which we are SO excited about. It’s going to be kind of crazy, as we are moving Saturday before the photos and Sunday I am running a race in DC. π It’s really starting to feel real to me!

My Fiance proposed the first week of march this year and within days I had already made venue appointments! Then within a week I had found my dream venue, which ended up being the venue my Mother wanted her reception at but couldn’t afford it (she is very excited for me). We also have the photographer, videographer, DJ, and limos booked. Our Save-The-Date Cards are being shipped to us as I write this post and I have also been browsing through invitation styles. This coming weekend we have our first appointments with a florist and an appointment for food tasting at the venue. Then next weekend is my very first dress try-on appointment, which I am most excited about. This past month has definitely been a whirlwind of setting things up but now I feel secure and able to breathe considering most of the important things that book up fast are taken care of.
I find myself going from extremely excited to extremely stressed about money. I am sure I’m not the only one of course! Although with my newly obtained career path and salary increase (and will be obtaining another one once I pass licensing tests) everything is coming together nicely. This year will go so fast!

thefuturemrshartley: I feel the same way! Now that I can say its less than a year away it finally feels real! and seriously how quickly does time go these days!? it’ll be here before we know it! I got my dress recently too, loved that process! It was slightly more overwhelming than I thought but i’m so happy with my choice!
That’s so exciting about engagement photos, how fun! and good luck with the race and the move! I know a girl who moved 2 weeks before her wedding.. eek! Moving can be stressful.. but its fun to have a change!
KatEmmaMarie: Congrats on your engagement! yay! I’m glad to see i’m not the only one with lots of things booked already haha people keep saying ‘oh your so organised’ but I can’t imagine leaving everything to the last minute! I’m super picky too so I wanted to get in early so I could get my first choice of everything!
You’re definitely not the only one stressing about money don’t worry! I figure as long as you spend what you feel comfortable with its fine, we’re spending a lot more than I typically see people spending on the bee but its what we want and its within our means so it doesn’t bother me! Everyones different!
Good luck with your dress appointment! Is this the first time you’re trying on or first fitting? I found it slightly more overwhelming than I expected (I went to my first appointment with all my bridesmaids and my mum, it was SO fun but I had a migraine by the end of the day as I was just so exhausted! After that I just went with mum, it was a lot easier haha) Enjoy!!!!

Miss_E_xx: Thank you! I completely understand what you mean, I couldn’t imagine leaving everything to the last minute. It would be panick central for me hah! The dress appointment is the very first trying on. I’m very nervous because I have all my BMs and my mother and my godmother coming (total of 6 people) and while 4/6 of those people are pretty laid back, there are two people I am worried about being overly opinionated due to a few things they’ve said about the type of dress I want. I’m not one to succum to pressures or do anything I don’t want, but I am also a people pleaser and extremely anti-confrontational so I have a strong feeling by the end of the appointment I might be frustrated.
Hopefully not of course! All my BMs are good people and will be happy with what I’m happy with.

KatEmmaMarie: ooh yay you will have the best time! My advise would be to just smile and nod to those who are a little too opinionated and go with whatever it is that YOU like and feel comfortable in.
My mum and bridesmaids all LOVED a dress I tried on initially (which I did too) and I almost settled for it but when I went back with just mum I found my dream dress and i’m so happy I went with it!
You’re the one who has to wear it so you need to LOVE it! maybe just don’t make a final decision with everyone there.. give it some time. I think the trick is to try them on, walk away, and whichever sticks in your mind is the right one!

Miss_E_xx: I’m so excited! I haven’t booked much, but have booked everything that can’t be “double booked”. We’ve got our venue, our photographer and our band all lined up. Now I’m trying to pin down an event stylist (like a florist, but does a little more) and get our hotel room blocks set up.
I’m also working quite a bit on our wedding website. I wanted it to be really personal, so I’m creating it from scratch and having all the people’s pictures be made into cartoons via Etsy. I think it will be very cute once it is complete.
I can’t wait to hear about everyone’s progress as the next 12 months tick by!
Best,<br />L

So exciting… Only 332 days until my March 2015 wedding! We keep being told we’re super organised. I have to agree with the PP’s… I’d be a mess if I weren’t organised! We’re hopefully booking our photographer on Thursday evening. I’m procrastinating with my dress though… I have more than a few kg to lose!!

Miss_E_xx: I officially had my first dress shopping experience yesterday and it went so well!!! It was an absolute blast, all my initial worries went straight out the door and everything went off without a problem. I also found my dream dress!!!! After trying 4 dresses on, the 5th was it! Under 30 minutes too ahah.
Here is also an update on the wedding planning:
In addition to everything in my original post we now have booked our florists, like i just said I have found my dress, and bridesmaid dresses are picked out and ordered. Our food tasting with the venue went very well. We “booked” our officiant, my aunt who was the one that introduced my Fiance and me. Our Save-The-Date Cards officially were delivered and I’ve gotten through about half of our guests with writting out the addresses. I think that is everything haha.
The only things left that need to be settled on are the mens tuxes, the cake, hair and make up, and where we are going on our honeymoon.
It’s all coming together so fast!
And here is a picture of my dress:

Luce587: You’re the week before me! how exciting! yea it feels so good to be organised!
I’ve just recieved the proof for our save the dates which i’m very excited about! Will probably send them in about 6 weeks – its a popular time for weddings where i’m from so need to get in quick with people haha
I definitely have weight to lose too! The boutique I got my dress from has done a kind of ‘pre-order’ for my dress so I can still get it if they stop making it this year but they’ll measure me and do the actual order in a few months so I can try and lose a bit more weight haha
Good luck with the photographer! That was such an important decision for me and I was so excited when we found the perfect couple to do it. Their work is amazing, I know i’ll be super impatient waiting to get them back after the wedding!
KatEmmaMarie: oh yay!!!!!!!! so glad to hear you loved the experience, and that dress is divine! congrats! such snappy decision making, well done you! Sometimes its best to just go with your gut otherwise you confuse yourself!
You are definitely doing a good job of ticking things off, it will make the few months leading up to the wedding much more relaxing! And I love that your aunt is performing the ceremony, that is so lovely! I wish where I lived you could have a friend or relative do it!
So how far out will your guests recieve your save the date? Ours are on order and i’ll probably send them around 9 months out. Or I might send them earlier.. I’ll probably be too excited to wait once we recieve them lol

Miss_E_xx: it is similar! it’s so funny because I had never heard of Maggie sottero before and the morning of dress shopping I met this woman who I know from past work experience and she was giving advice and had said to check out Maggie Sottero. After I had tried on all the dresses and officially chose mine, the consultant informed me it was a Maggie sottero and I was like “thats crazy!”
We already have our Save-The-Date Cards and I have them half filled out. So once I actually find the time to fill out the remaining addresses, I will send out the 100% invited people and then when it gets closer and we officially cross all the t’s and dot all the I’s for our maybe invited list we will send those out.

KatEmmaMarie:
marlenyvt:
I wrote a SUPER long replyto both of you ladies and when I clicked ‘add comment’ some error occured and everything dissapeared π so I cracked it and logged out so that’s why my reply is so overdue haha sorry!
KatEmmaMarie: I had a really similar thing happen to me! I hadn’t heard of Maggie before the bee and when I tried my dress on and asked who the designer was she told me and I thought ‘huh, well there you go!’
I just received our save the dates i’m super excited! Probably ended up spending more than we should have but its fun π sending them out shortly! by then it’ll be 9 months out – most guests are local but a few from far away, I figure that’s fine!
marlenyvt: yay for setting a date! and well done you and getting all that organised already! enjoy dress shopping and be sure to show us some engagement shoot photos! We didn’t do one (they’re not common here – i’d actually never heard of them until coming on the bee!) so I love to have a good sticky beak at others π
