can you believe we are at the end of January already? I can’t be the only one who still has a million things to do (i always say i do my best work at the last second LOL). How is everything coming along?
Things i still need to confirm
– Song lists
– Finish up groomsmen tuxes
– get our wedding bands
– finish alterations
– finish center peices! I have candles and petals and no idea what they are being placed around LOL. trying to look for a non-floral option to keep prices down.
– Seating plan
but my invitations are out and RSVPs are starting to roll in – so exciting!

I’m March 24th! Coming up quick!
We are having a really small wedding (21 guests + us), so even though a lot of odds and ends aren’t tied up yet I think we’ll be ok. I need a dress still (I know…yikes…), and I’ve had a heck of a time finding one. He needs a suit.
Other than that…need to order flowers and a cake, but I have meetings with a florist and a baker in the next couple weeks.
Also still need to mail invites…those will go out later this week.
Oh! And centerpieces. I’m waffling there…

We’re such a quiet bunch in March! We’re gearing up for our big day on the 30th…
L606 : you could try IKEA for cheap vases, and then put battery powered microlights in them? Or floating candles.
futuremrspk : what are you looking for in a dress?
We still have:
Fiance and groomsmen suits – we’ve been waiting for the spring colours (light-mid grey) to come in!
Ceremony music if we’re having any playing in the background
Buy a zillion LED candles (our decor is basically copper lanterns)
Buy bowls and sweets for the sweet table
Find a fairy light table
Confirm timings for hair and makeup for bridal party
Finalise menu (just waiting on an alternate suggestion from the caterer)
Table numbers to be ordered after RSVPs (2 weeks)
Cake (just to confirm whether we want extra cutting cakes based on RSVPs and pay the balance)
My engagement ring needs to go in for resizing and plating, my wedding band is ideally going to be engraved, I had my first dress fitting yesterday and pick that up on the 24th Feb, FI’s wedding band has been ordered and will hopefully arrive in time, we have copper lanterns everywhere, must book hair and makeup trials, I can’t decide whether to get the Game of Thrones dagger to use as a cake knife…

Hi Ladies! I’m also a March babe right here! We decided to focus more on putting together a fun dinner party with dancing than super ceremonial wedding. That being said, I’m super Type-A and completed 90% of our checklist months ago BUT all the downtime has me FREAKING OUT. It doesn’t help that FH is super Type-B and his go to response is to “relax.” I’m not sure about ya’ll but being told to “relax” incurs the exact opposite feeling!
If anything, the biggest thing left “to do” is dealing with everyone else’s agendas. Everything was super chill for the past 12 months but somehow in the last 2-3 months family have come out of the woodwork with additional “ideas” and “traditions” that are leaving me a bit at wits end. I mostly came here for anon moral support from other ladies who are month twins.

futuremrspk : Hey date twin! Have you found a dress yet? Sample sales! I got mine off the rack for over $1000 cheaper! what about your center peices? I found some really cheap glass cylinders and then thought…. who wants to lug all these in addition to all the other stuff we are taking? Wedding is 5 hours away and so im going to return them and keep hunting LOL
BeeDD : Hey there march bride! We actually found some great cylinders at the dollar store, but who wants to lug 50 of them 5 hours away? I just have this image of opening the trunk to smashed glass LOL. You sound like you are coming along, not much left to do! And yes I vote for GOT dagger. How cool!
SabL22 : Oh man house hunting too! (congrats!) but i do know the stress it adds! We closed in July, but i couldnt imagine doing the wedding and looking at the same time! All the best of luck to you!!
crownoflove : I wish i was like you! haha I had the venue booked and my dress SO long ago. I just thought i had all this time to accomplish everything and all of a sudden it was 2018! and yes! I totally get all of a sudden people have all these last minute ideas or advice (or all of a sudden family who told me they werent coming is now debating it – WTF?) I know they are trying to be helpful, But it gets a little overwhelming!
I called my brother the other day who rarely talks to me about the wedding at all, but the one comment he does make is that my themes dont match -____- thanks bro. haha

L606 : I got my dress! Found it on Etsy actually — 240 bucks! Score! My wedding is super small — 21 guests total. We will have one long table for everyone. I ordered two low, round floral arrangements. Those, in addition to my bouquet that I’ll put in a vase at the center of the table, plus a bunch of small votive candles, will suffice! Cheap, too. 😛 Good luck picking out your centerpiece!

Good luck, March brides! Not long now!

So far, so good! I’m picking up my dress tonight. Only thing left is finalize the menu with the restaurant and write our vows (you know, that super important detail, haha).
How are you doing @L606?
futuremrspk : exciting! I pick up my dress next week and im really eager to see if i can dance in it
Thats so nice you guys are writing your own vows! I dont think i could get the words out, id just cry and have someone else read them LOL
I have most things finalized now- just all the small details (that really add up!) and figuring out logistics or load in and set up.
My family flies in in 2 weeks! I just had a mini freak out moment last night when i realized it was going to be March. Not sure if it was anxiety or excitement haha

futuremrspk : We did our vows this week. Started them on Monday, and sent them off on Tuesday. On the one hand I think we cut it a bit fine (the officiant wanted them a month in advance) but on the other it meant only a bit of overthinking went on. Ultimately they’ll never say enough – I told my Fiance that when he was struggling and he stole the line to use!
We’re also in the small details phase. I need to finalise details/confirm with vendors. It’s my hen party on Saturday which I’m both looking forward to and thinking how do I have time for that when there’s so much to do?!
March brides! Congrats 😃 What is everyone up to post-wedding, if any of you are still around? How did all your big days go?
I’m still here! We got married on Saturday and it was *perfect.* Just a really special, emotional, meaningful day.
Now that I’m back home and he’s off to travel for his job again already, I’m a bit down in the dumps! There was so much planning and anticipation — now that the day is over, I have some post-wedding blues.
How about everyone else?
