Public speaking certainly isn’t somethink I love, but I’m not too bad at it. I know I’ll be really nervous about getting emotional, but I’ll regret it more if I don’t do one! I wrote a draft while I was killing time at the airport the other day, that helped a lot.

@goingtotherooftopoflove:  Yay! Date Twin. 37 days to go today. I work away and the lovely girls at work are throwing me a hens party tonight! Fun πŸ™‚ I bet you’re hoping for some cooler weather on your wedding day than you have had recently. My wedding is in Auckland, so I’m just hoping for no rain!!

Music has been one of the toughest things for us. Still no first dance song…I find so many of them cheesy and its hard because we don’t have anything that is “our song”. I might pick a few key songs (walking down the aisle, signing register and dance) and then leave the rest up to the DJ to fill the blanks….stress!

Nervous! Stressed! Excited! Stressed!

So much to do, so little time. I’m in the process of talking to DOC because I feel like at this point, I need to know that a professional will be in charge of the wedding day. There’s just too much freakin stuff.

Need to go over the ceremony with the officiant.

Guys need to order their tuxes

Have to make a list for photographer of must have pics

Need to make a list for DJ and ceremony musicians for what we want to hear during ceremony processional and recessional along with reception music

Need to get my grandmother’s diamond bracelet restored

Buy earrings for wedding

Order surprise groom’s cake

Book a limo

Book florist for bouts and corsages

Make table numbers

Buy a veil

Finish alterations on my dress (waiting for lace material to come in)

Buy supplies for the edible favors we are making, and then actually making them

Then once all RSVP’s are in, which my mom and I will start calling those who did not respond this weekend (fun!), I need to make the seating chart and escort cards.

I HOPE, I’m not missing anything.

ETA: Oh yea, write my vows!

@kiwiabroad: I’m from Auckland too!  From your username I’m guessing you live overseas too?  Amusingly I chose to get married in Melbourne… yet my brother & sister-in-law chose to get married actually at our home in Akl πŸ˜‰  We had a song chosen for first dance that we found when we’d been going out for… five months?  It was a beautiful piece of music that we were listening to on a 12 hour train trip home from a weekend in Sydney (we thought it would a fun experience – we were wrong)… basically we teared up at exactly the same time and admitted we were BOTH thinking of FH spinning me around in a white dress!!!  … but unfortunately it’s an instrumental piece and we’ve decided it’s going to be a bit hard to cut down and also a bit of a shame to use considering we’ve got a band.  So… we now have two backup options, will depend on what the band can play.  I’m just sad we won’t have a sax πŸ˜‰

@Diamond84:  “There’s just too much freakin stuff” >> YES.  That’s exactly how I feel right now.  At least you have a list.  I’m flying blind, think I better get onto list making πŸ˜›

I’m feeling like I won’t be able to find a capelet in time.  I decided today that I wanted to go ahead and get the Mori Lee 11013 beaded cape, but apparently it would not be delivered for 2 months after my wedding.  Fail!

@Nyasha:  YAY twin date! As much as we all stress, the best part is that, in the end, we are still all getting married even if we miss a few DIY projects!

@Katepants:  @Nyasha:  Hi ladies. Replying just to say that there’s date triplets!

Yep, the little details are what gets me down. Too many decisions to make. We still need a few significant things like a microphone for the ceremony and booking the decorations for the reception. We’ve been deciding about it for over a month and haven’t ticked it off yet.

We have about two thirds of our rsvp’s back so far which is better than I expected. Our date  clashes with a big football match between the two teams based in our hometown so we made light of it on our RSVP by asking people to list their attendance along with which team they’re supporting. It seems to have worked to get people’s attention and has lead to some funny responses.

@graciej:  Yay triplets dates, haha! That’s a great way to acknowledge the date and get some laughs when opening those envelopes!

@EffieTrinket:  hi date twin, I’m feeling similarly. I feel like my feet are stuck and have no desire to move them. My girls haven’t been very helpful either :/ Fiance and I are moving full steam ahead this weekend with picking up our wedding bands, we’re so excited to see them πŸ™‚ need to go to ikea and buy picture frames for our DIY table numbers (FI is a graphic designer too and has finally made cute comic book table numbers that fit with the rest of the decor and we’re going to decoupage the card box to match them. Need to order our guestbook on Shutterfly too.

i need to finish buying stuff for the hotel bags but I just found out at my meeting with the venue that we have to provide the bathroom basket at the venue (had completely forgotten about that). I need to get the parent gifts and Fiance & I need to decide on wedding gifts to each other.

Almost all my RSVPs are in, my date was Feb 3 and the stragglers suck!  My baclorette party is next weekend woo hoo!!

I’m so excited!!!  Every day I feel like I just get more excited!  I’m still waiting on a couple RSVPs and we’ve already had a couple issues, but I don’t care.  I’m just happy that pretty soon we’re going to be married!  I’m sure the nerves will kick in soon before the actual wedding day.
