I always dreamed of being a Fall bride (I’m just not a June girl) but five months was not enough time to plan our wedding. I didn’t want to get married during the holidays, and I wanted to stay away from January because it’s my birthday month. February seemed cliche, so March became the big winner! Plus, the hills in San Luis are green and gorgeous in early Spring!
We chose March 20 because it’s Steak and Nobber Day! It’s been a family joke for years, so I figured it was fitting to get married on a day that everyone would remember!

My fiance doesn’t finish college until December 2009 so if we got married he’d have to reapply for financial aid and could possibly lose his scholarship! And since we’re doing a long distance relationship until he moves up here anyway it didn’t make much sense to get married before December. We figured life will be chaotic enough in December and January that we didn’t need a wedding as well and a close friend is getting married in February so March it was! And I quite liked the look of 3/13/10.

Because it was $40 less per person than if we got married in May, and April was completely booked. Plus, we managed to get the 27th, so it’s officially spring.

Wow, a lot of March anniversaries!! That was the reason for us, too. We started dating on March 13, 2006, and we were engaged a little over a year later. Our wedding day is our four-year anniversary.

We picked our date in March for a few reasons. First off, it’s the day after our anniversary (we wanted to get married on a Saturday but our anniversary fell on a Friday). We both love cool weather and March in our area is normally that perfect mix of cool and warm. And the wonderful discounts because of it being off-season were definitely a bonus!

We originally wanted Nov (we met teh night before thanksgiving) but then the Fiance realized he did not have any vacation left SOOOOo we looked at all other possibilities and the only other time that worked for both of us was March 20th before my spring break (I’m a teacher) Its a bonus that we can get everything for way cheap too! 🙂

My fiance and I are both geeks. I always have a pen in my pocket, so on our six month anniversary he got me a space pen engraved QT3.14. When I see it, I read cutie pie. (Pi is a mathematical constant whose value is the ratio of any circle’s circumference to its diameter in Euclidean space.)
The numerical value of Pi is 3.14159… He proposed on 6/28 because 314 doubled is 628 and there are two of us, so it was one pi each. (The math doesn’t work, but I thought it was the sweetest thing ever)
So we are getting married on 3/14 at 1:59 pm. I told you we were geeks.

I chose March because my mom and stepdad are going to the Masters in April, my best friend is getting in May (didn’t wanna step on her toes too much), and my venue is heated, but not air conditioned so summer was out. I’ve always seen myself having a spring wedding, but I guess March 20 is close enough!

QT314, that is the greatest thing I’ve ever heard.

We picked it because of work reasons. I work at a school and I have spring break, a week off after our wedding weekend. Had we put it off for the summer it would have been way too hot, and we both get uncomfortable in in the heat too easily. Fall would have been nice, but it’s college football season, I wouldn’t have received as much help from my fiance, he was nice to admit that to me. Fall also would have left no time off for me either. So spring it is! Only bad thing about our date, is that it’s the 27th of March, and his b-day is 31st, so we’ll have to juggle that so he doesn’t feel cheated.

<pre style=”white-space: pre-wrap; word-wrap: break-word;”>March 13th is our anniversary, the day he proposed, my Grandma’s birthday, my Grandpa’s death day, and the day our daughter was conceived; we really wanted to keep it!! He proposed 2004, Saturday, March 13th, and 2010 it finally falls on a Saturday again!
