ROLL CALL

Your age/partner’s age: 35/35

Baby #: 1

Cycles TTC: too many

Known fertility issues: unexplained infertility

Previous fertility treatment?: Clomid, medicated TI cycles, 5 IUIs, 2 IVF retrievals, 3 FETs (1 mc, 2 failed)

What are you doing this month (transfer, beta, IUI, retrieval)?: FET

Key dates (POAS, beta, transfer): Transfer is 3/22,I think.

Just for fun: What are you most looking forward to when Spring comes!

I’m looking forward to sitting out on our deck. We moved into our first house in Nov, so we didn’t really get to use it yet.  I’ve been cooped up inside (no walks even, due to a sprained ankle), so I’m looking forward to outdoor weather.

Thanks, it’s our only remaining embryo, so I’m anxious.

They are having me do daily PIO shots after my baseine (next week) through betas, which means I’ll probably be napping all month (progesterone makes me really tired).

ROLL CALL

Your age/partner’s age: 36/33

Baby #: 1

Cycles TTC: 16?

Known fertility issues: Testicular Failure

Previous fertility treatment?: 2 SA’s, Hysteroscopy, SHG

What are you doing this month (transfer, beta, IUI, retrieval)?: Waiting for physcial exam with urologist

Key dates (POAS, beta, transfer): None this month

Just for fun: What are you most looking forward to when Spring comes! Sunshine and no snow! Being able to leave my house without bundling up. Wearing little sneakers and sandals instead of mulkuks!

DH still needs a physical exam with his urologist to confirm there is no physical issues but we’re not holding our breath. Assuming nothig is found in that exam, we have been given 2 options: MicroTESE (up to 1 year wait) to determine sperm viability, then IVF with reduced live birth chances or IUI with donor sperm. We’re leaning heavily towards using a donor; we have no insurance coverage for fertility treatments and the wait time to determine sperm eligibility is concerning. We could go out of province but the travel restrictions make that next to impossible right now. I think I’m more sad about having a baby that isnt genetically DH’s than he is! It’ll take some time to adjust to that idea. So now we’re just in a holding pattern til DH gets an appointment.

@jen9999:  That you for hosting! I’m sorry you’re here 🙁 You have already helped me so much by being here though! I hope your retrieval goes well.  I asked our RE about follistim like you recommended and unfortunatiely it doesnt help when testicular failure is the cause of MFI 🙁

Hi everyone! I’m not going to roll call anymore as we are mostly certain we won’t be purusing treatment. I do not want to go through surgery when there’s a good chance they will just tell me to do IVF again. We are starting down the adoption path and I feel really good about it and it’s very possible we’d even get a baby sooner than if I were to try to get pregnant again. I really wish everyone luck on their journey and I want to thank everyone who provided support to me over the past year. Everyone on the boards has been so helpful and kind, and I really hope all of you get your take home babies soon.
