The worst part of getting your RSVPs back is contacting your caterer and getting back the banquet order with the costs (and the taxes and service fees).

@indibee:  Yes she bought me a really nice shower gift and just had it shipped to me. Her un-rsvp was just in a long line of things that went wrong this week (fridge broke, massage appointment cancelled after waiting 45 minutes, kids keep getting in trouble left and right at work, vendors late to appointments, and now my cake vendor called my fiance because she had a question about the SURPRISE groom’s cake, so now that’s out the window and I cancelled the order) so it just really irked me at the time.

@mrsSonthebeach:  I am VERY lucky, I have known my caterer most of my life.  We went to kindergarten, elementray and high school together.  He has been awesome.  I went from one concept to another and he didn’t even blink.

@indibee:  If I resort to an utlimatum I may not HAVE an Maid/Matron of Honor….

Picture this my mom is a control freak and so is my Maid/Matron of Honor.  I just want peace and harmony so I let them do what they want as to lessen my stress – which clearly isn’t working!.  I have already had to go on blood pressure medication because of this darn “event” that I didn’t even want.  I wanted the marriage, NOT the wedding 🙁

@indibee:  40 people! oh man I would be freaking out if I were waiting for 40 cards. Granted, some of these 40 people have mentioned in passing that they’ll be coming, but seeing how they’re from out of town, I won’t believe it until i see it in RSVP form.

27 RSVPS.

ALL “delighted to attend.”

One written in “plus one” that wasn’t invited. Gah.

2 gifts purchased of the registry!! (I swear I wasn’t stalking, I went to add something and I just happened to notice) Smile

It’s happening, people!

@Ms. Gertie:  Don’t feel bad my Maid/Matron of Honor dropped out 32 days before the wedding because she was being a pre-madonna and it wasn’t all about her. Better now than day of I guess.

@jamithebride: ok, I am confused – you sent your invitations on the 7th and gave them less than 2 weeks to RSVP which is still 4 weeks before your wedding…..

More more more! Our number invited just went up to 138. We did some head count number crunching and are in a really good spot, so I was able to add plus ones to 3 friends who are in serious relationships now, but weren’t in the relationships at the time we made the guest list. They’re all really happy so it makes me feel good.

Numbers right now:

138 invited/92 yes/18 no.

I estimate that by the time everything is done, we will have 107 yes, and that includes 3 kids under 12 who will be free and 6 kids under 21 who will be reduced price (minus alcohol). Things are looking REALLY good and we are right on target for our budgeted 100 people. We were originally thinking we would have 115-120 yes, and it was freaking us out!

ETA: If things go as planned, that will be a 77.5% acceptance rate. Fantastic!

@indibee:  I don’t get it either.  His ENTIRE family hasn’t sent anything in yet.  Granted they have about 3 more weeks but just about all my friends and family are covered.  What is creepy is my shower is Sunday, its a Jack and Jill.  They all know I know about it and nobody is talking to me about a thing…I checked my registries today, nothing has been bought off of them this week.  There are more people that are supposed to be coming to the shower than gifts bought off the registry…..this could get interesting!

I have been avoiding this thread for weeks, due to the sh*t show my Future Mother-In-Law turned my invitations into….and now, 7 weeks out, my invites FINALLY went out.  AHHHHHHHHHHH.   Its still a month before the RSVP, plus we sent out Save-The-Date Cards so I don’t think it will be too bad.  But STILL.

THEY’RE OUT!!!!  Hopefully will report back in with some counts soon.

@Stammie16:  Woohoo! So glad you got them out! Honestly, I am sort of regretting sending ours so early because I think it just gave people more of a chance to procrastinate and to lose their reply cards (grumble grumble… I paid for that stamp, you know!). But since ours is quasi-destination we figured we needed to give plenty of notice, even though we did send Save-The-Date Cards.

Speaking of Save-The-Date Cards, we had our website on them, which has all the info on hotels, registries, etc… You know how many people have asked us the details? Um, didn’t you actually type in that link and look? I have no idea what we bothered sending those for. Although they were cute…

@Frog E.:  LOL, I know that our hit count on our wedding website went up after we sent our Save-The-Date Cards, but I know a lot of people probably didn’t look.  And thank god most of our guests are local….a lot of people got their invites today – woohoo.

Unfortunately all the RSVPs are going to my parents so I’ll have to call my mom to get the count update every day.  Let the fun begin!
