@CrazyCoffeeGeek:  MOST people like beer and/or wine, so choosing to serve beer and wine is your safer bet. If you don’t care for beer or wine, maybe you could have a special drink just for yourself (not out in the open obviously)?

I think they’re great fun! But…I don’t know about other people, especially guys. I think there should be some kind of alternative for the folk who prefer something plainer.

Yes, I would really miss beer/wine. I like margaritas as much as the next person but its not exactly something you drink with dinner.

Unless you were serving chips & salsa and Mexican food, I would definitely miss wine and beer. I think they go better with most dinners- both FI’s and my family drink wine at family gatherings with dinner and at barbecues and more laid back meals, I’ll drink a beer.

Whether or not you should (or could) bring beer and wine would depend mostly on your venue- how laid back it is/ would they allow outside alcohol?

@CrazyCoffeeGeek:  Love you name by the way! I think the wine would do, and if a keg is too much beer maybe a case or two? They’re around $20-$30 here for a 2-4, and you can get variety packs in some brands. Un-opened cases can usually be returned and the leftovers would last better I would think too.

The peach and raspberry bellinis sound AMAZING. I definitely want some for my wedding now!

Our signature drinks will be margaritas, regular and mango, but we’re also serving red and white wine, a keg of a local ipa, and bottled beer. I really wanted to get the frozen machine but my dad said it was tacky, haha.

At least within my family, friends, and acquaintances, beer and wine and by far the preferred beverage selections for an alcohokic drink with a meal. I’m including the margaritas for the “party” aspect of the reception, though there will certainly be enough wine and beer for the entire event. I think we’re pretty big drinkers, though.

Given the choice, I will always take a frozen fruity drink over any other alcohol. However, I am very hesitant about the machine rental concept, simply because there is no licensed professional to man them and they are a free for all, which is a legal battle waiting to happen. If you have a bartender working for you to serve the drinks, then by all means go for it.

@CrazyCoffeeGeek:  Yuuuuummm Bellini. I would drink one of those, though if you’re going with an Italian dinner you’ll have to have at least some wine 😉

If you don’t think the wine is worth the expense and you know your guests won’t drink it, don’t buy it, regardless of the menu type that someone thinks you must serve x, y and z with a, b, and c. People drink whatever you offer with no complaints.
