Hey there!

We are planning our wedding in Sausalito! However, it’s still a long way off (Spring 2010), so we only have the venue (Ondine) and the ceremony site reserved. I’ve been trying really hard not to start obsessing on the details just yet 😛

We looked at almost every venue in MC before deciding on having it in the City. The view from Ondine is ridiculous. Miss Chocolate Chip- where are you getting married?

Oh, and I have to give a shout out to Local Flora in Marin. They just opened when I was looking for a floral vendor, but I love love love their stuff. Let me know if you want their info.

I used to live in Marin, although I don’t anymore.  My friend is a florist there, so I might recommend her…

Hi Miss C.C.!  I’m also looking to get hitched at Old St Hilary’s!  We’ve been up to visit a few times and finally got a peek inside a few weeks ago… it’s just so adorable.  I’m now trying to get the date selected so it’s works with the reception site that we like (Servino’s – yummy).  I’ve had to move things around and it’s still not settled on… gah.. but I’m looking forward to that being done so I can get to work on the little details!

We had considered doing an hour long, post-ceremony cruise on the bay with those ferries that leave right there (about $1700, so not too bad), but I think that idea has been nixed and we will probably head right towards the reception.   My future Father-In-Law had the idea of taking the ferry into SF for the rehersal dinner instead, which sounds awesome.

I’d love to chat eventually about what you’re thinking for guest parking and shuttles and all that other fun stuff!

Hi Miss Chocolate Chip…I am getting married at Old St Hilary’s in 43 short days and having our recpetion at the Corinthian Yacht Club, both in Tiburon.

The Church is so simple in it’s beauty and construction and think that that is what appelled to us…not to mention the VIEW! Wow right? I always thought it would be perfect to be married in a little white Church and I found it in Old St Hilary’s. A few things…

-Make sure to take into account the shuttle service you will have to arrange for to get your guests to the church (no parking up there) plus you will have to arrange for the parking at a local lot. The parking seems to be about $10.00 per spot and the shuttle service depends on what "vehicle" you choose. We have 135 guests and are using 3 limos and 1 Rolls Royce from Sausilito Limos at $1400 but I am sure you could do something for less money.

-Half of your ceremony fee is tax deductible…yeah!

-You can have whatever ceremony you would like since it is a deconsecrated Church, but we are Catholic and hired a Priest to marry us from The White Robed Monks of St. Benedict.

I am sure I have plenty more to tell you so let me know if you are still considering the church and we can chat more.

i’m not in MC, but one county above… MC was out of our budget…

I’ve been to the Yacht Club twice now and will be there in June for the 3rd time…it has an amazing view, except there’s a wall that obstruct it 🙁  So unless you have a small party you won’t see much of the view.

I heard the Spinnicker has a nice view too, never been there.

I’m jealous, it’s so pretty in marin!

Hi Miss Chocolate Chip –

We live in Oakland but we are having our wedding in Sausalito, at the Campbell Hall & Garden, just above downtown Sausalito/Casa Madrona.

We picked it because it’s BYO caterer, and our good chef friend (executive chef at Miss Pearl’s Jam House) will be catering. Our friend JL Stiles will perform, as it’s acoustic only. I’m thinking of hiring http://www.dipietrotodd.com/ di Pietro Todd salon for my makeup and hair. We’re planning to have the rehearsal dinner at a restaurant in downtown Sausalito and stay at Casa Madrona. Activities for our family include a visit to Angel Island, hiking Mt. Tam, eating at Guaymas in Tiburon, and spa day.

The Spinnaker is a wonderful restaurant.  I was practically raised on their food!  Please check it out.
