I was thinking of ordering a bunch of different colored hydrangeas from Costco. I think it’s definitely doable if you aren’t looking at doing anything intricate or complicated (unless you are really good at these things).

Sorry for the delay, here’s some photos. One thing I wish we had done was cut the flowers shorter to fit in the vases better. As well as our bouquets, not a fan of the “long stem” look.

Did you do the bouquets the night before or in the morning? how long did it take for each one?

I think it’s a great idea — I’m also getting my flowers through a local flower farm. They are set up to do wholesale flowers for weddings and are sending us their “pick list” the week before the wedding, we pick what we want, and they deliver them the day before and we are DIYing simple arrangements.
One thing you might be able to do is reach out to your local flower farm directly — you might be able to get an even better deal from them if you go wholesale.

I also just saw this one — don’t put flowers in the fridge! Florists fridges are set to a different temperature and humidity. Putting flowers in the fridge will make them sad looking 🙁 Putting them in a dark/dim room and cranking up the AC is the way to go!

We did the market, Wegmans, and Trader Joes for my sister’s wedding. We assembled the bouquets ourselves!
The plan is to do the same with a different palette and more greenery for my wedding at the end of the month.

Beautiful! Thanks for posting the pics.

I purchased the flowers the day before and made the bouquets morning of my wedding

Did you buy the flowers from Wegmans or did you have them arrage them? I ask becasue I am going to use Wegmans. I figure if something is wrong with the flowers then I can atleast talk to a person and not be out flowers like if I were to buy them online.
I never intended on using a florist. They are too expensive. I even looked at a video on youtube to make boutineers. I just have to pick something but OMG it was sooooo easy looking

You can do it! I planned on DIYing all of our flowers but my mom ended up paying for my bouquet, the moms’ corsages, and my bridesmaid’s bouquet. We DIYd the men’s bouts from a dozen roses I bought at the florist, and used some roses from the grocery store on a few tables. We also ordered rose petals for the aisle from Fifty Flowers. I would have ordered everything from Fifty Flowers but the shipping cost to Hawaii was more than I had budgeted.
I think it’ll look amazing and save so much $$$.

we just went and bought a bunch of 12-20 dollar bouquets right in the store, dismantled them, and arranged them how we wanted!

I wish I’d done this, my mum talked me into getting a florist do my bouquet and I hated it! My Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets were DIY with fake flowers and they were gorgeous, wish I’d done my own bouquet myself 🙁

I’m doing my own flowers too! I went to the farmers market to get some for a practice round of bouquets and centerpieces. They didn’t have any pink roses or white hydrangeas, which was mainly what I wanted. I had to go to the grocery store to find those. The flowers they did have wilted very quickly compared to the ones from the grocery store. I ended up ordering all of our flowers through Publix, except for the peonies which I will have to find through a florist. We’ll be spending less than $500 on them total, including vases.

Did you pre-order or walk into Costco and buy them?
