We are able to have up to two sentences for our lighted marquee message outside the theater where we are holding our reception.
I dont want to do just the generic congrats & our names & date.
We are having an elegant 50’s (Im getting inspiration from Audrey Hepburn & Grace Kelly)/french theme with a brunch reception.
I thought something like… Brunch & Love in the Afternoon with (our names). Love in the Afternoon being an Audrey Hepburn movie but Fiance & my mom thought it sounded like we were having an orgy!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL So thats out.
I really love the Audrey Hepburn quote… The Best Thing to Hold onto in Life is Eachother (we will be using this on our programs) but would have to put her name then dont know how to put our names.
Anyways… Im lost. Anyone have any ideas for me?

tiffany7: Just put “The Best Thing to Hold onto in Life is Each Other” in quotation marks then add your names. I think you can get away without crediting the source.
Or use half of one of her other quotes (If I get married, I want to be very married)
“Very Married” and add your names.

OH I love that married quote from her… I dont think I ever heard that one before.

Another Audrey Hepburn quote is “If I get married I want to be very married”

It might be fun to add that quote somewhere on the invitation then when the come to they reception the marquee would say “Very Married”
But then it would be alittle weird to send an invite to a wedding/reception or reception only that says… IF I get married. lol

It wouldn’t strike me as weird to see that quote on your program- I think people will recognize the positive connotation rather than the “if” portion, since it’s on a wedding program, lol. Obviously you two decided to get married.
I also don’t think it’s totally necessary to include the quote on the program to give context for the marquee. People will like the marquee, whether they get it or not. It’s cool!

Thank you everyone!! The Very Married is a wonderful idea!! Fiance loves it too.
Im thinking I may put the whole very married quote on the invitations somewhere.
Then on the program which is going to be for at reception only I will put the other quote I love about the best thing to hold onto.
