4 months away from the wedding, and I think I have most of it sorted. However, my Mum is starting to stress out big time. We are having a marquee reception at my parents, and have organised most of the stuff ourselves – marquee, catering, toilets, band, disco, generator for power, tables and chairs. We dont have a wedding co-ordinator, but one of my parents friends is being our master of ceremonies, so we’ve given him all the jobs that the wedding co-ordinator might do.
Has anyone else had a marquee reception and is there anything else that i might need, want, can anyone recommend? Just looking to make sure that i’ve covered all my bases, and put my mum’s mind at rest!
Also any Ideas of how to decorate the venue/marquee would be great, my picture is the orchard reception venue.
Any comments/suggestions are gratefully accepted.

im sure this is a stupid question, but what is a marquee reception? :S

Our wedding reception is in a marquee – a giant tent 9M x 21M. Its like a hall really, but in my parents garden. We cant just have our party outside as the Scottish weather is very variable, people already think i’m mad having my wedding ceremony outside!

Trash can, Dance floor if you’re in the grass, side walls if the weather is that variable, lights.

@macmint83: Oh i see.. it sounds gorgeous, you will have some awesome pictures! umbrellas would make cute photo props may also be a needed item if your guests have to walk back to the house to use the WC. as for stuff you may be forgetting im not sure. sounds like you have it all under control!
