I just adore that ring. 😃 Don’t see marquise cuts very often here. It depends on how you feel. I wear a size 5.5 and find that center stones over .50 kind of overwhelm me. But I have small hands and short fingers so I might not feel the same if my fingers were longer. Have you seen how the 1 ct looks on your hand?

As far as the metal, depends again. Rose gold really pops on certain complexions and white gold seems to look nicer on others. Go with what you love!

mrsgordon96 :  Got it. Is there a jewelry store in the area where you could ask to see marquise rings with similar size stones? I’m just really wary about buying online unless I know exactly how it looks in person. Like on a long finger that design would look super pretty and elegant but on mine I’d feel like it looked weird bc it would likely reach up to and possibly cover my knuckle. lol Good luck!

Wow, what a beautiful ring!  I’m a size 4 and have a .70 ct round solitaire.  I honestly couldn’t imagine anything much larger than 1 ct on my finger without it being overwhelming, and that’s without a halo. I would personally opt for the 0.5 ct for this particular ring.

In terms of the metal – what colour is your wedding band?

mrsgordon96 :  I would keep the size as is for the Moissanite pictured (1/2 carat dia equivalent wt) If you’re upgrading to an actual diamond, I would go with the larger if you can swing it financially.  I don’t recommend larger Moissanite, especially fancy cuts because they look more wonky the larger they are. That is a beautiful setting and I would go with the rose gold also!

It is a beautiful ring.

Without seeing the next size up that you are considering it is challenging to say which one would look better.

I think even more so because of the halo the .5 carat option gives your finger enough coverage. I have a .5 solitaire e ring on a 6.5 size finger and love how dainty it looks. It’s never too much or too little.

I am a 5.5 finger size and I would go for the larger one. I just got my 5 year upgrade in september… and I HAD to change my upgrade for a different bigger looking ring because I felt like it wasn’t looking or feeling like an upgrade at all, just a style change. This od course is only my own experience but I would go for the bigger option if I were you.

Before you commit to anything, please go to a jewelry store and try on similar styles with marquise center stones that are the sizes you are thinking of buying. That will be the beat thing for you to do before purchasing.

Good luck

I would definitely go for the 1ct in white gold if you are not fond of mixing metals. I don’t think the 1ct would “overwhelm” your finger at all but it is a matter of personal taste. Marquises and movals are a very underrated cuts in my opinion.
