I already posted here but a previous poster made a good point about going for the 1 carat to make it feel like more of an upgrade and i agree!

If 1 carat seems too big and 0.5 too small, why not try .75?

Can I ask where this ring is from sorry? I have a marquise sapphire and am considering changing to a marquis diamond xx

mrsgordon96 :  Marquise diamonds are my favorite! I wear a 6.5 and felt that a 1ct looked overwhelming on my finger, and .70ct ended up being the perfect size for me! I wouldn’t have known that if I didn’t go try them on at a jeweler, so I highly recommend doing that! I looked at ovals and marquises by the way, but fell in love the second I put a marquise on! Beautiful choice for an upgrade 🙂

Here’s the 1ct I tried on in the store. It looked so “fat” and not what I was going for.

Here is my set – I think it’s the perfect size for me.

mrsgordon96 :  If you fear being pressured, go to the store without ANY money. No cash, card whatsoever. If possible go with someone with the sole task of physically getting you of the sfore after 20 min. I’m laughing but I’m serious lol. Too many bees feeling the pressure now dont like their rings and those are not pocket change and they depreciate out of the store faster than ice cream in the sun!

mrsgordon96 :  I would outline the dimensions of both the halo and the stone on the ring finger. For both the 8×4 and the 10×5. I am way too impatient lol. Not draw the ring (unless you’re an artist cuz you picked a fancy one lol) but just the outline to see how much finger real estate both would take and see how I feel about it. That’s how I came to love the size we picked before purchasing. I’m a size 7 with adorably short cute and round hands. I realized more was more for me, returned the previous one, found another one with bigger dimensions which doubled the ct lol (gemstone, cushion, deeper cut).

Oh I forgot: this ring is GORGEOUS. I like the rose gold more as the intricate halo design can be seen better and silvery tones don’t work as well on me IMO. In your case I would choose the white gold though bc I can’t mix metals…unless I plan to wear that stunner by itself (left or right hand) like the star it is and the band on another finger. So I guess it depends on your skin tone and your preference. Either way it’s beautiful and I need to check out that website lol

That is just a beautiful ring setting! Really one of the nicest marquis I’ve seen! I love the rose gold.

mrsgordon96 :  personally I would definitely go for the smaller one, all my rings together (engagement ring, wedding band and an additional band) equal about 10mm and my finger is full, my rings are size 4.5 but I’m probably more like a 4.25 if it weren’t for my knuckles. But you might have much longer fingers than me too, idk.

ladyvictoria :  Just wanted to say you have beautiful hands – like super elegantly proportioned fingers and nailbeds. I wear a 6.75 but mine are so chunky and stubby compared to yours! Your ring looks perfect on you.
